"Glad to be done with cleaning gutters out. Have several trees and was forced to use the 'basket covers' on downspouts to keep leaves and whirlybirds out of the downspouts that drain underground."

"Barbara, who owns the company, was prompt starting from the beginning and honest. She provided a thorough estimate, was honest about what we thought we needed but didn't (leaf guards - she said wasn't worth the money since it wouldn't keep out small leaves and dirt that tend to clog the system the most anyway), and informed us of the importance of needing roof support/flashing and counterflashing in order to prevent some of the water damage to the soffits we were experiencing. She educated us about gutters and what to look for in replacing our system. She even went beyond their typical scope to remove an old, corrugated tin roof covering our patio, which ended up being an absolutely filthy job due to copious amounts of birds nests and debris. <br /> Her workers were her son and a family friend who worked hard to remove the existing system, scrape/paint, and install the new system. There was no foul language, no lengthy lunch breaks, and they were very careful to clean up after themselves and even sweep the street where some of the haul-away material had been stacked (they even put cardboard under their van, which had an oil leak). They were very friendly and had no problem with our dog hanging out in the backyard with them while they worked. Once they knew he was out, they were careful to always shut the gate behind them to make sure he didn't run off. <br /> From what we saw, Barbara showed up at least once each day to check on the work and talk to us if we were around, and she even worked Saturday and Sunday (yes, Sunday) with the crew to finish painting and install the system. <br /> The gutter system itself is wonderful. Because of our roof type and the limited locations of downspouts, we installed steel 3x4 gutters and downspouts (2x3 is standard). The steel is powder coated in the color we wanted (a chocolate brown) and the downspouts no longer have weak hinges like what got crushed in our old aluminum system. The steel system comes with a 10 year warranty, and if we ever need to remove the downspouts - such as if/when we reside the house - they will come out free of charge to remove it, adjust any returns (if needed), and re-install it. <br /> They do offer aluminum gutter systems which came with a warranty, albeit a shorter one than the steel system. <br /> Once they removed our old system, Barbara informed us that we did NOT need to install roof support flashing as we already had it, so that reduced that price. However, the scraping and painting took significantly longer than originally estimated - the final price for that alone was $900. Had we known, we probably would have done that ourselves. But with that said, they did a wonderful job and we have no regrets. <br /> We highly recommend this company and would have no hesitation to use them again if we ever needed to. <br />"

FAQs for gutters & downspouts cleaning service projects in Snowmass Village, CO

You’ll want to clean gutters once or twice a year—in early spring and again in fall—to keep water flowing and avoid pricey leaks. Homes tucked beneath tall trees or hit with heavy debris may need two to four visits instead. Staying on schedule protects your roof, siding, and foundation from costly water damage.

Even with gutter guards, plan on an occasional cleaning—just not as often as homes without guards. Installing gutter guards blocks leaves, but grit and shingle granules still slip through and pile up over time. A quick sweep keeps water moving and stops overflow that can damage your roof or foundation.

Watch for overflowing water, slow or silent downspouts, sagging sections, or debris peeking over the gutter edge. You might also spot water stains, weeds, or an increasing number of ants in certain areas. Any of these red flags means it’s time to call a gutter cleaning pro for service before minor clogs turn into major leaks.

Skip cleanings for too long and gutters overflow, sending water under shingles, down siding, and toward the foundation. The result can be mold, rotted fascia, basement leaks, and repair bills that dwarf the price of a quick cleaning. It can also mean that future cleanings will be more expensive as it will take pros longer to deep clean gutters that are full of heavy debris. Staying on schedule saves money and headaches.

Plan on gutter cleaning service to take an average of one hour for an average single-story home and two to three hours for taller houses. Add extra time if gutter guards need to come off or clogs are packed in. Pros work methodically, clearing every linear foot so water can flow freely again.
