"We were amazed and absolutely thrilled with the work done by Ace Radon. After I called, they set up a time to come out and see what was involved. The estimate was emailed later that same day. When we approved, they scheduled a time to do the mitigation. Both times men were prompt, professional, knowledgeable, and neat. They explained what they were doing and answered all our questions. The before radon tested 7.6, and afterwards tested .7 Needless to say, we'd highly recommend them!"

"<br /> What was so great that he offered a whole service packed which includes radon and water tests. That helped us a lot since we heard that radon is a delicate topic here in Colorado. He recommended us also other professions to solve the discovered problems. <br /> <br /> Overall we really trust Nate and will hire him again for our next project! <br />"

"Had an awesome experience with these guys. We had to do both radon mitigation and sump pump installation. I called 5-10 different places to get quotes, they were the most affordable by a decent margin. Kratos was really great- he was on time, very friendly, wasn't annoyed by our dogs constantly being at his side, etc. He finished the job very quickly and gave great education on how the system works and what we should be looking for to ensure it's functioning well. Additionally, he randomly fixed an electrical issue we were having with some outlets! Totally not his job, but I asked him if he knew a good electrician and by doing some basic trouble-shooting he was able to fix it and save us the cost of having an electrician come by! Highly recommend these guys, no reservations whatsoever"

"I called the number and gave rough estimate of the job.  A cost estimate was provided for the standard reduction task.  The technician arrived as scheduled and completed the work within a few hours.  We went for color matching which made the outside pipe look much better against the background of the house.  Radon reading went from greater than 9 to less that 2 within a week.  A separate monitor I bought has shown the levels to be below 2.4 since installation.  Overall, we are very satisfied with the radon reduction system. <br />"

"I received my radon results in a timely manner. I did not hire them specifically, (so, I cannot say I would hire them again) the local company contracted them for this service. The home inspector I hired, handled this service for me and included the results in his report."

"A2Z Radon Mitigation was very responsive upon my first inquiry. I found them on Angie's List and they provided me with a quote over the phone. The technician came to our first appointment promptly. The only glitch was a misunderstanding on my part. My husband and I thought he was coming to give us an in-home estimate and show us where the venting would be located in our basement, etc. Apparently, in-home estimates are not the standard for this industry and he thought he was coming to do the actual job. He was very polite and understanding and proceeded to discuss the installation procedure with my husband. We cleared up our misunderstanding with their office and scheduled them for completion of the project. Our technician, Mike, arrived on time and did a beautiful job. He was very tidy and took great care to install the pipes, etc. in a place where we could later finish our basement nicely, concealing the mitigation equipment. He also took the time to find the best location for the fan switch, considering safety and future basement finishing. A2Z offered us the choice of using plastic downspout or PVC piping on the outside of our house. We chose to have the installment spread out over a two-day job, so that a second coat of paint could be applied to the downspout. We provided the paint, but did not want to climb up and touch-up the downspout for better coverage; so, we opted to have Mike come back and finish up on a second afternoon so a second coat of paint could be added. The company only charged us $75 extra for the second service call. That changed our total from $850 to $925 total. Still a very reasonable price. We couldn't be happier with the quality of this installation."

"The mitigation specialist showed up right on time!  He quickly got to work looking at how the home was laid out.  I was immediately impressed with his get right to work attitude.  He was careful entering the house to not track in snow and very considerate of the property.  After some discussion, we agreed on the best possible spot to install the hole in the floor to provide the best results.  He got right to work and I got out of his way!  Several hours later, I came back to check on the progress and was impressed!  He exceeed my expectation by impacting the living space minimally.  He ran the pipe outside, made some adjustments for power hook-up, and finished the job in one day!  In addition, he moved the fridge downstairs, accessed the plumbing for the bathroom and sealed the plumbing going into the slab from behind.  Finished the hole with a plastic plate.  Basically, a professional job!"

FAQs for radon gas abatement projects in Snowmass Village, CO

The only way to know whether your home or water supply contains radon is to schedule a professional test. A qualified radon inspector will collect samples, deliver lab-verified results, and explain the findings for $150 to $800. Once you know your exact levels, you and your radon mitigation pro can choose the right system and tackle the problem before it affects your family’s health.

Both roles tackle radon, but they focus on different steps. Inspectors test your home, interpret the results, and determine whether levels exceed EPA guidelines. Mitigation pros design and install the system that lowers those levels. Some companies do both, but the skills and equipment differ, so always verify that the person you hire is properly certified for the specific service you need.

Installing a mitigation unit fixes radon problems by reducing indoor gas levels to established safe standards. A system designed and installed by a mitigation expert, tailored to your home's specific layout and foundation, guarantees effective radon reduction. This expert installation ensures consistent performance over time while safeguarding your indoor air quality.

Open windows and doors do not reduce radon levels because they trigger a pressure imbalance that draws radon-laden air into your home. This practice fails to control radon concentration and can even worsen the issue. An active suction mitigation system provides a proven, safe, and effective solution to reliably reduce radon levels.

Radon mitigation systems generally last between 10 and 30 years, depending on system type and maintenance. Passive systems endure the longest because they have no moving parts, whereas active systems, which use a fan, require fan replacement every 5 to 10 years. System components, such as PVC pipes, seals, and fittings, can remain effective for decades when paired with periodic inspections and proper maintenance.

Radon mitigation systems consume between 300 and 3,000 kWh of electricity per year, depending on fan size and system design. On average, an active radon fan draws 100 to 300 watts continuously, which translates to roughly 876 kWh annually, and adds $30 to $300 to your energy bill each year. Choosing a high-efficiency fan and ensuring tight sealing around pipes helps minimize these ongoing costs.
