Our house, from 1903, was built with a field stone foundation and hadn't had any serious foundation work since the mid 1970's. We hired LBJ to clean up the grout between the stones on the inside, and based on the work they did brought them back for a complete foundation repair with poured walls on the outside. Before they started we had holes that you could see the daylight in the basement. Now it's all closed up and solid. A few guy showed up one day and started working, we were not notified they were coming to work,good thing we were here that day. They did the job and left without ever communicating with us about the work. We did a walk around and discovered that some of the work was not completed. So called the company back and the owner came out to look at the job, he said it would be about another $100. To complete. We were not happy because this was supposed to be in the estimate we agreed on. The workers show up again unannounced and did the job. We then received a bill for $200. More, again this was not what was agreed upon when talking to owner. We were hoping to form a relationship with this company for future work, but that's not going to happen, there was no communication and even with a written contract they will somehow charge you more than agreed on."
