Customers say: Quick response

"This company fulfilled its responsibility without actually completing the work, demonstrating the character of the business. I had a schedule of tasks to complete, but due to a medical issue, the project had to be cancelled. Tim took charge of my situation by processing my refund and offering a prayer, which helped me during a difficult time. I told Tim, as a Vietnam veteran, that I would welcome him into my foxhole anytime. Tim rose to the occasion, and for that, I want to thank him. Sincerely, John"

Small jobs welcome

"This is the contractor you should hire: Aaron and his crew with Poured Perfection Concrete were great to work with. They poured a hot tub pad for me at a rural property within the time I needed while making adjustments to their schedule to fit the job in. They were all very professional and did a great job on the concrete pad. Cost was fair and the quality of work was excellent! I worked with many contractors and Aaron is one I would definitely recommend and certainly would use Aaron and his team again in the future! "

"Roberto promptly submitted a VERY competitive bid. He and his crew were on time, professional and friendly. Work was done to a high standard and all phases "flew" through inspections with no remedial work needed. Plumbing and HVAC are currently being completed, I'll review the slab work when finished. So far, totally satisfied....."

"From start to finish the team at Legends met the mark on everything from the initial visit to the beautiful rendering to working with my HOA everything was professional and considerate. We removed our front lawn and were very happy with the xeriscape design we're glad we went that direction. Once the work started the team that worked for over a week to tear down old shrubs, plant the many trees and bushes to the installation of the side walk pavers did a great job and were respectful of our property as well as our neighbors ensuring they left a great impression of us all. I highly recommend Legends Landscaping if you want reliability and quality. Thank you to all of those at Legends Landscaping. Bill & Denise Curry"

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in South Lake Tahoe, CA

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
