"One of the first companies that actually showed up on time, actually early for our appointment. They were extremely polite and organized. Alex did a phenomenal job with our installation. Professional and efficient. I would highly recommend to my friends and family."

"They came out right away and explained what the issue was so we decided to take the package to have all lines cleaned. They work professionally and everything was working when they finished. They gave us warranty on the job and the plumber also cleaned up after he was done. I would highly recommend them a and I will continue to use them."

"This was my first experience in buying an Angie's list deal, and I was rather wary, particularly since I had to pay up front, before even talking with the company!  But all went very well.  I bought the deal on Sunday, and was contacted Monday to set up a time for installation, which was 9AM the next day.  At 9:05, "Eric" called to say that an emergency had come in, and he would be somewhat delayed.  I appreciated the notice.  He arrived around ten AM, and took measurements to determine what size hot water heater would fit the space I had for it.  He then went to get it, called me back saying that the 38 gallon was the largest that would fit (I had wanted a 40 gallon, but the 38 was fine.).  When he returned, he took out the old, leaking heater (and later took it away, so I had no disposal cost).  He found some water damage on the floor below, that may need more work at some later time.  The heater took about three hours to install, and once it was installed, I had hot water very quickly!
Eric was superb: polite, thorough, highly professional and adept.  I highly recommend him, and the company.  The service could not have been better.
I had in the past used a different firm that has good (somewhat mixed) reviews on the list, but it has not been as satisfactory-- usually late, and usually charging an extra "travel fee" that varies greatly between jobs.  PlumbTech had no hidden costs, was expeditious and professional.
I would certainly use this company again.

"Bradford has been our "family" plumber for several years, and when we remodeled our home we sent out several bids and he was competitive so we jumped a the opportunity to use him. Dave is a one man show who does all the work himself for most jobs. His work is quality, he is always on time and he'll give you a strait evaluation of your situation without trying to sell you a bunch of stuff you don't need. Because of the large job he brought in the occasional helper(ever try to install a tub by yourself?)and they were just as professional. All work passed inspection with only one small issue requiring re-inspection. Dave worked well with the other contractors and wasn't shy about letting me know when he thought something could be done better(a life saver because I wasn't using a general contractor)."

"Spoke with Andre late Thursday afternoon. He quoted a price (several hundred dollars lower than other quotes) and scheduled me for the next morning. The representative, Dobrica, arrived early for the appointment. He checked the location to confirm adequate space for the new unit which was larger than the old unit and recommended a new shut off valve (the old unit was from 1994). He was very professional and his installation was top notch. It required major re-plumbing which he accomplished quickly. What amazed me the most is that the job was completed at the quoted price plus the cost of the optional shut off valve. I honestly expected some sort of additional cost to be added because some unexpected problems would pop up. But, NO, the quote was honored, and no attempt was made to get me to buy any additional parts. Having lived in South Florida since 1981, I've come to expect some sort of up-charge. Great to find an honest business!"

FAQs for sump pump or interior foundation drains installation projects in South-miami-heights, FL

Most residential pumps draw approximately 1,300 to 2,900 watts when they first start, then settle at roughly 800 to 1,050 watts during normal operation. The exact number depends on the motor’s horsepower and how often the float switch tells the pump to run. Even at the high end, the electricity cost is minor compared with the expense of cleaning up a flooded basement.

Grab a ruler and an empty 18‑inch‑wide pit. During a steady rain, time how much the water rises in one minute. Multiply that depth (in inches) by 60 to calculate gallons per hour, then add 50% for safety. If the result tops 2,100 gallons per hour—about 35 gallons a minute—you’ll need a 3/4‑horsepower unit. Anything lower, and a 1/3- or 1/2-horsepower pump should do the trick.

Loud rattling, constant cycling, or shuddering vibrations are the pump’s way of telling you it’s on its last legs. Musty smells, higher electric bills, and visible rust are other red flags. If the unit is 10 years old or older and exhibits any of these symptoms, replace it before the next heavy rain turns your basement into a wading pool.

You don’t have to hire a licensed plumber, but you should still bring in someone who installs sump pumps for a living—whether that’s a plumber, basement‑waterproofing specialist, or experienced handyman. They know the local codes, can wire the pump safely, and will test the system before they leave. Skipping professional help might void the warranty and could leave you with a pump that fails when you need it most.

Not every basement needs a pump, but if your home sits in a floodplain, has a high water table, or has ever taken on water during a storm, a sump pump is inexpensive insurance. For basements that only struggle with condensation or the occasional damp spot, sealing cracks and improving drainage may be all that is needed.
