"The 5 star reviews speak for themselves. DDR Excavation is top notch!👌 I couldn't wrap my head around how precise and exact their work was done. They did the dig-out for my home foundation and a complete septic system. My house was built on a slope, so Dave's expertise really came in handy. He and Derek went right to work, keeping on schedule and completing all of the work at a very competitive price. If you're looking for an honest, hard-working, dependable company willing to communicate well throughout your project needs ... go with DDR Excavation. "

"It went great! We had tried to do this project for 2-3 years and could not get return calls or estimates from the contractors we called. Nick retuned calls, got estimates done quickly and got the work scheduled fast! Aaron came and took care of the cottonwood trunks. Aaron and Nick accomplished the digging, grading, dry well and culvert in about two days. Thank you. And the starting point was much more rugged than those pictures FYI."

"Very polite, very efficient, honest and affordable price Had many quotes and these guys were the company I went with. From the start Kody was a great person to talk to, very straight forward, and a very good price. Hard to go with anyone else. He was my first bid and I already had it in my mind that he's my guy. Kody recommended that I get more quotes before I go with him. Just so I felt right. I did and nobody else met my needs and expectations like he did. Nobody showed me the same respect and gave me that people person feel. You can tell Kody is there for the people. not to fill his pocket. 10/10 recommend "

"I was very satisfied with the work they did for us. We were selling a farm house property and at the last minute the buyer's mortgage company required that a large dilapidated barn be removed before the sale could close. Because of our short timeline and the location's rural location, we had a hard time finding an contractor. TILT offered a bid at a reasonable price and did the job exceedingly well. There was a hiccup due to contradictory instructions given by some family members, but we cleared it up and TILT responded well. Overall, they were very responsive to phone calls and requests. We then hired them to do a second job of cleaning junk out of a two-car garage at another property."

"They got the job done promptly. Of all the companies that gave me estimates the owner was the most thorough and explaining a variety of options fencing. They always came on the days and times they said they would and the fence looks great!"

FAQs for excavation major grading or resloping projects in Spokane, WA

You can excavate in winter, but frozen soil slows down the process and increases labor costs. Many grading companies offer discounted rates during their off-season, so ask for a winter quote and weigh the savings against a longer timeline. A brief conversation with a local professional will help determine whether cold-weather excavation is suitable for your site.

Foundation digs can be completed in as little as three days or take up to three weeks. Soil density, access, weather, and hidden obstacles all play a role, so every timeline is a bit different. Have your contractor walk the site and flag any potential issues early—clear expectations help keep both the schedule and budget on track.

You must always call 811 before excavating. Dial 811 a few days in advance so that utility crews can mark underground lines and ensure the area is safe for digging. Hitting a buried cable or gas pipe can be both dangerous and expensive, and many municipalities will not issue permits unless the site is flagged correctly.

To remove soil during an excavation project, your crew will load the spoil into dump trucks with a backhoe or excavator, haul it to a disposal site, and return for the next load. Efficient hauling keeps the work zone clear and the project moving. Depending on the site and volume of osil, multiple trucks may rotate to maintain a steady flow.
