Customers say: True professional

"I want to preface this review by sharing that I have never done an online review for any contractor and there was no financial benefit to me for writing this review. Simply put, Christian with CW Plumbing is a top notch, qualified, experienced, professional, and reasonable plumber. My water heater started leaking over the weekend so I called a large regional company for an emergency service call over the weekend. The tech looked at my water heater, said it needed to be replaced and wrote up four unreasonable quotes and asked which one I wanted to select. I got CW Plumbing information from a family member, called Christian on a Sunday afternoon and he diagnosed the issue and provided recommendations. He took the approach of talking through what my needs were for the repair by discussing benefits and costs of each repair option and talked me into the best value option for my situation. He was looking for ways to save me money rather than ways for him to make money and recommending what he would do in his house. He came over the next morning and installed the new water heater within a few hours. I highly recommend CW Plumbing."

"Chrisâ Plumbing and Drain came to my home for a quote. I was impressed with the knowledge and explanation of services offered. Quote wasnâ t the lowest that I received, but there were extras included that I would have likely have had to pay with others. Install was completed the same day. We are please with the work and would recommend Chrisâ Plumbing and Drain to others."

"Local Plumbing and Drain came out to my home to redo all my galvanized lines to copper and replace my water heater. They did a great job and have great craftsmanship. The new copper looks so much better than the old galvanized and our water flow has improved greatly. Highly recommend Local Plumbing and Drain!"

"09/26/2018 System was installed on 8-31-18. Nature’s Helper was prompt on their arrival time and their installers worked very hard to get my system completed. They are one of the most professional companies I have ever used. From the initial bid and meeting ( this gentlemen his name is Howard is one of the most professional and knowledgeable people I have ever met). Their installers led by Juan were polite and professional all day. The follow up the next day by Justin was handled the same way very professional and he was very knowledgeable as well. All these people will do what is necessary to keep the customer happy. I have had contact with Dillion and he helped me with Controller changes. Valletta and Andrea have been very helpful when I have called or needed anything. A+++ company."

"They were timely and responsive. Once they arrived, they were very professional. They explained everything they were doing while they were doing it. They were also able to get our sewer line cleared quickly. Their pricing was also very competitive. We would hire them again if needed, and I highly recommend you hire them if you need sewer or drain work done."

FAQs for sump pump or interior foundation drains installation projects in Springfield, NE

Most residential pumps draw approximately 1,300 to 2,900 watts when they first start, then settle at roughly 800 to 1,050 watts during normal operation. The exact number depends on the motor’s horsepower and how often the float switch tells the pump to run. Even at the high end, the electricity cost is minor compared with the expense of cleaning up a flooded basement.

Grab a ruler and an empty 18‑inch‑wide pit. During a steady rain, time how much the water rises in one minute. Multiply that depth (in inches) by 60 to calculate gallons per hour, then add 50% for safety. If the result tops 2,100 gallons per hour—about 35 gallons a minute—you’ll need a 3/4‑horsepower unit. Anything lower, and a 1/3- or 1/2-horsepower pump should do the trick.

Loud rattling, constant cycling, or shuddering vibrations are the pump’s way of telling you it’s on its last legs. Musty smells, higher electric bills, and visible rust are other red flags. If the unit is 10 years old or older and exhibits any of these symptoms, replace it before the next heavy rain turns your basement into a wading pool.

You don’t have to hire a licensed plumber, but you should still bring in someone who installs sump pumps for a living—whether that’s a plumber, basement‑waterproofing specialist, or experienced handyman. They know the local codes, can wire the pump safely, and will test the system before they leave. Skipping professional help might void the warranty and could leave you with a pump that fails when you need it most.

Not every basement needs a pump, but if your home sits in a floodplain, has a high water table, or has ever taken on water during a storm, a sump pump is inexpensive insurance. For basements that only struggle with condensation or the occasional damp spot, sealing cracks and improving drainage may be all that is needed.
