"Work was done quickly, they even showed up a day early. Roof was replaced in one day. Brick cracks repaired and sealed. Old gutters replaced with new slim version. All rubbish removed. They were very helpful and professional and returned my calls with no problem."

"Called Bill White on Thurs to look into replacing 2 skylights on roof. One was leaking so decided to replace both. Bill was able to come out same day to give estimate. Because both were standard size skylights, Bill was able to locate a supplier who had 2 available. Bill and his crew came out next day to install. They were very professional and knowledgeable. Prepped and cleaned up work site. Bill worked with me on price and we are very happy with the completed work. Would definitely recommend."

"Barb and her team are fantastic! We received a letter from our home owner's insurance company telling us that we needed to have mold and lichen removed from our roof or face costly penalties. As new home owners, the last thing we needed was to replace our roof after all the expenses of closing, moving, and making repairs. Barb came out to assess our roof, which turned out to be in great shape. Some close-proximity trees created the mold and lichen situation. With an expert consultation and some helpful instructions, Barb set us up for service. The team that came out to clean our roof was friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and safety-focused. We had our roof and siding cleaned, which brought both amazing curb appeal and peace of mind knowing that we no longer had harmful lichen and mold that could damage our roof. I would highly recommend Roof Renew Pros LLC."

"It was an absolute pleasure to work with Roman and Ivan. The displeasure of dealing with contractors is you never know what you're going to get. From the moment these guys arrived (exactly at the agreed time) you immediately see the professionalism you were in store for; shoe covers were put on before walking around to assess the job. We walked around while I explained my concern over a possible leak caused by previous contractors careless work, some water stains, cracks in the ceiling and walls, bathroom finishing work (left incomplete by previously fired contractors), etc. After assessing, they said they'll get in contact in a few days with an estimate. Although their estimate came in a bit higher than others, their professionalism left a mark on me; and as everyone reading this knows, the best price can equal the worst experience—I was looking for the best result, so I hired them. Day 1: They again arrived on time, and immediately began putting down floor covers and tarps to ensure as little dust would get into our living area, as they worked on replacing an old front entry and security door on a rotted frame. Earlier in the week they guided me on dimensions of the products I needed to purchase, so everything was waiting for them when they arrived—Also want to mention they offered to pick up for me, but I opted to have it delivered and spare them a trip. They finished installing the new doors by the end of the day, and they showed me the lack of insulation from the previous installation and remedied for me free of charge. Day 2: They came back to complete the finishing work for the door as they needed to rebuild the moldings and customize the aesthetics of the finishing work of which they did a great job of. They also began assessing the ceiling staining, and work on the bathroom. As with the beginning of the project, they covered my wood floors and wore shoe covers throughout the time they worked. Day 3: Finishing of the work in the bathroom which included finishing a door way which was left in complete shambles by the prior contractor, drywall finishing and tidying work from an old repair and installing a mirror and tiles above the sink. After seeking his advice on the best layout of installing our tiles, we decided to go with his recommendation. Day 4: After leaving the ceiling open for a few days to assess if there's any leak, it was decided that the water stains was indeed from the previous job, so the ceiling was closed. All work was finished, including fixing water stains in plaster and drywall, cracks in plaster ceiling and wall, painting, etc. In the end, the invoice was very clearly itemized and almost exactly as the estimate with the exception of some additional materials that was needed to complete the job. Every day that work was done by these guys you would have never thought they were there after they had left. Everything was as clean as they found it, which is not usually my experience dealing with contractors. I was left equally impressed by the quality and attention to detail of their work. As they said, they work on other people's homes the way they would want someone to work on theirs. After my experience they will be the first ones I call for any future work I need."

"I originally contacted Hugh to do what I thought would be minor maintenance on the roof, but he found a few spots that were leaky, even though the damage wasn't yet apparent inside the house. He presented the options for fixing and had a good warranty. His crew was fast and professional and finished the work the next day. We've had a few big rainstorms since the new roof was installed, and so far, so good! No one likes finding out that they need a new roof when they think they're just due for maintenance, but Hugh made the experience as smooth and reasonable as could be hoped. I would hire again if I had other roofing needs."

"Vinny and his team at McLeod Brothers were fantastic to work with. Our new home had its original wood shake roof (100 years old) with 4 layers of asphalt shingles layered on top. Vinny was extremely communicative, honest, and diligent - he stopped by the site almost every day to check-in. His team was incredibly efficient and very hard working. With a complete roof removal and installation there is always going to be some debris around the home (old roofing and nails), but his team did an incredible job of cleaning up. Vinny's team also installed new gutters and copper valleys - again, top notch work from them. I highly recommend using Vinny and his team for your roofing needs."

"Communication with staff was efficient. They responded quickly which was nice. However, no personal visit to evaluate our roof condition. Rather, they sent us satellite images and issued quotes based that. We asked if they would honor the 5% senior discount listed on Angie's, they noted they no longer work with Angie's. False incentive listed so just be mindful."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Springfield Gardens, NY

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
