"29 stars. 45 stars. You get the idea. I’ve worked with a lot of different contractors in my life, and Rob and his incredible team were head and shoulders above them all. Meticulous, communicative, kind - delivering work that was on time, on budget, and done more beautifully than we ever could have hoped for. Couldn’t recommend more"

"Revision Construction (David Horwich) is an excellent, high quality builder. He is neither fast nor cheap — but experience has taught us to no longer choose that kind of solution. David is meticulous, thoughtful, and has good taste. His team does careful, solid, high-quality workmanship. We initially connected with David after a basement flood when neither the insurance company nor other professionals could diagnose the cause. He was the only one who figured out what had actually happened. We first engaged him to waterproof our basement, then eventually to build it out into a beautifully finished and useful space. He stripped the basement down to the concrete, put in a robust French drain and sump pump, and re-did pipes and ducts to raise the ceiling so that it no longer feels cramped. He installed a mini-split for heating and AC, created closets for storage and to hide utilities, and designed a custom bookshelf and entertainment center all along one wall. We love it!"

"We had an absolutely fantastic experience with NZ Improvements! From the very first consultation to the final walkthrough, their team was professional, reliable, and incredibly detail-oriented. They listened carefully to what we wanted, offered thoughtful suggestions, and delivered results that exceeded our expectations. The quality of workmanship was outstanding, and the project was completed on time and within budget. Communication was clear and consistent throughout the entire process, which made everything feel smooth and stress-free. It’s not easy to find a company that truly cares about both the craftsmanship and the customer experience, but NZ Improvements does exactly that. We couldn’t be happier with the outcome and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for high-quality home improvements!"

Customers say: Quality work

"No. I was told that the shower paneling would be a certain height and it was not. There is a big 12 inch gap between the paneling and the ceiling. I called the sales representative to discuss. We talked and she said she would get back to me the resolution, she never did. I paid for the old install fully $15k. I later got a call from the production manager demanding a new check for $10,000. They told me that the check I gave them was lost. I checked my bank statement and they had already cashed the check. I would never recommend this company."

FAQs for bathroom remodel projects in Stamford, CT

You can buy a replacement vanity by selecting a pre-made unit with an integrated sink from a local home improvement supplier. Pre-made vanities are designed for easy installation and compatibility with your existing plumbing. If a ready-made option doesn't meet your needs, consider hiring a custom builder to create a vanity that fits your space and style.

You can purchase a bathroom vanity from major home improvement retailers like Home Depot and Lowe’s or online stores like Wayfair, which offer a variety of pre-made vanities. Visiting local showrooms and bathroom supply stores can also provide professional advice and help you choose the right vanity for your space.

Installing your bathroom vanity flush against the wall enhances stability and prevents shifting. This placement also eliminates hard-to-clean gaps and keeps your vanity securely in place. Building codes often require a minimum clearance of four inches from bathtubs and at least 21 inches of free space in front of the sink for accessibility and safety.

You can upgrade a single vanity to a double vanity by installing additional cabinets, a second sink, and matching fixtures. This process requires additional plumbing adjustments, countertop modifications, and careful alignment to ensure both sinks function correctly. Upgrading to a double vanity enhances bathroom functionality and offers more space, which is especially beneficial for shared bathrooms.

The best vanity top material depends on your budget, style preferences, and maintenance willingness. Materials like quartz or solid surfaces are excellent choices for durability and low maintenance. If you're on a tighter budget, laminate is affordable but less durable. Consider how much traffic your bathroom gets and choose a material that balances cost, appearance, and upkeep.

Installing a bathroom vanity takes between three and six hours. Simple installations may be completed in under three hours, while more complex projects requiring adjustments or plumbing modifications can take up to six hours or more. The installation process includes assembling cabinets, placing the countertop, installing the sink if necessary, and connecting plumbing.
