"I lived in this house for 20+ years. The basement was always damp and at some points flooded. Since the work was done, the basement has been bone dry for 2+ months. I'm still trying to wrap my head around it as I'm so used to the basement being wet when it rains. I'd recommend them to anyone. The crew, headed by Philip, truly worked their butts off. It was heavy exhausting work to excavate and rebuild the basement walls, as well as jack hammering out the concrete basement floor to put in the French drain, pour the concrete, etc. But they took great care & did a fabulous job. They even came and worked on a weekend when we were being threatened with a tropical storm to make sure that the basement was properly secured enough to withstand the storm (which thankfully did not come)."

"The crew was extremely professional. They came the same day we hired and completed the job in a few hours. If I ever need more work done these guys are the first ones on my list. Also best of all they did it for a good price."

"We wanted a paved patio under our deck, so we got an estimate from two local contractors.  One was Haranin and we wound up going with them since they were both cheaper and seemed more professional.  While they admitted that they are used to larger projects, I think that they adapted well to our needs.  The job was done in two days instead of one, but we were away so it was no problem for us.  After the installation we noticed a problem with the fill between our pavers and they came out to look.  It was replaced with a different type of fill and he gave us a large bucket for future use.  After noticing that one of the pavers was cracking, they came out to look and replaced it.  He also gave us 2 additional pavers to hold in reserve. <br />"

"Expert House Movers brought a crew of 6-8 & came in late August 2013 to start the process of raising & moving the house.  My husband had done all the prep work of disconnecting the utilities & removing the furnace, etc. They dug access ramps to the old foundation/basement with bobcats.  They poked good sized holes around the foundation so they could put in steel beams and jack up the house.  Our foundation was from 1917 & built from old creek gravel cement, so it was pretty tough.  It took three & half days to jack the house & move it over the driveway.  It seemed really fast to me.  The only thing to fall in the house was a picture off the piano.  We still had access to the house through a tall ladder to get clothes, etc. that we needed. <br /> We took over the process of arranging excavation, concrete pouring, and carpenters with more local contractors.  Expert does have concrete people & others they use in the St Louis area that know exactly the requirements needed for the new foundation. <br /> After the basement was poured & cured (curing takes about 3-4 weeks), Expert returned in October 2013 to move & set the house.  They had been in contact with the concrete man for specifications, but there were no slots for the beams when setting the house down.  A concrete worker had to come & cut those slots.  We had a carpenter on hand to finish the sill installment & make sure the sills for the permanent beams was correct & set the support posts in the basement.  We also had a friend's tractor help Expert's bobcat pull the house back over the foundation.  While all this was going on, Expert was jacking and moving supports & placing slider beams & raising & lowering the house.  The process was complete in about 2 1/2 days with care & precision.  Some of the cracks in our house even disappeared.  Great job guys. <br /> Our carpenters returned to build a staircase & some other requirements.  We are working on re-connecting utilities & returning the furnace, water heater, etc. to the new basement.  We plan to move back into the house in the first week or so in November 2013.  It's been a long process, but well worth it.  Made possible by Expert House Movers! <br />"

"Everything went great. They brought samples out of the roofing materials and we discussed the skylights. The sales person also brought over a cut away sample of the SUNRISE windows they were installing so I could see the quality of the materials. There were some trim issues with the skylights, but when I called, they came right out and fixed this with a carpenter who used an inventive way with the trim to cover the gaps where the wood was around the skylights (there were not able to replace out skylights with exactly the same size as they took out. ) Overall, very happy with the work. They were not the cheapest vendor, but I felt the quality of the materials and workmanship were worth the extra money. <br />"

"They came on 5/20 and began the pouring of concrete at 7:00 a.m..What a WONDERFUL experience we had! The front step and sidewalk make such a difference on our home. The side stoop with attached grill pad look great! They took their time and are particular about the work they do.Everything had to not only suit us but themselves. They are hard workers and each man knew what he had to do!It was nice to hear Randy say to call him if we had any problem..makes us feel that we won't be left in a lurch if something goes wrong. Will definitely use them again if needed. <br />"

FAQs for concrete flatwork repair & resurface projects in State College, PA

When evaluating whether patching can address your concrete blemishes, it’s important to assess the extent of the damage. Minor issues such as small cracks or chipped areas may be effectively repaired with patching techniques that restore the surface’s appearance. However, if you notice widespread deterioration, significant cracks, or structural weakening, resurfacing is recommended as a more durable, long‑term solution. A thorough evaluation by a concrete specialist can help determine the best course of action for restoring your concrete to its optimal condition.

The optimal time to resurface your concrete driveway is late spring. This period benefits from warm temperatures and softened ground conditions following winter’s freeze‑thaw cycles, ensuring that the new overlay bonds securely and matures to a durable finish. Resurfacing at this time also enhances your property's safety and curb appeal. Engage a concrete professional to schedule your project during this ideal season.
