"Oscar had a quote for me within 24 hours of my homeadvisor search. They were able to start the project on my schedule. John, Stuart, and other workers that came to our house were respectful, clean, and polite. The project took a little longer than quoted, but I have never had a home remodel that didn't go a little over the timeline. They completely transformed our master bath into a beautiful walk-in shower, new wall and floor tile, new vanity top, and lighting. I showed them a picture of my vision, and the guys from AAA totally nailed it! I will use their services for future projects."

"Horn Brothers has replaced a number of shake roofs in our neighborhood, so we went with them.  Very professional and courteous. Relatively expensive compared to other options, but high quality product and installation.   Project took about a week.   Job site was kept extremely clean each night. <br />"

"Tyker Mack was very professional. After getting the run around for over a month from 2 other companies, we contacted Mack Land and received a quote, written estimate, copy of insurance, and references within an hour. They also took care of securing the permits with our village, and added us as additionally insured on their policy at no additional cost. They kept in touch throughout the whole process to let us know what was going on. The job was started in the time frame they had given, and after two days of work, we no longer had a hideous pit in our backyard!"

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Steamboat Springs, CO

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
