"Facts: this review comes in roughly 1 year after we hired OHC to clean our house, every 2 weeks. OHC is not this big cleaning firm with cars all over the place. The owners are part of the cleaning crews. Price: they charge pretty much the same as other businesses in the area (not cheap). Contact: They're very easy to reach. Text/phone and they reach back to you within minutes every single time. Payment: they're very easy going (if you forget to leave them a check, they don't mind waiting a few days to get paid). The only negative point is that they charge you if you need to pay by credit card. They don't offer ACH or other more convenient forms of automated payment. Quality: this is where it gets complicated. Unlike many other companies, they move and put stuff away as part of their services. A lot of companies just "clean around". But after several incidents, I think I know why others chose not to move stuff around. The cleaning crew are too rough to move furniture or objects around the house. We've had hardwood scratches, wholes and scratches on the walls, broken furniture, broken plates... Although accidents do happen, what I really do not appreciate is that every time, we have to ask them about it. It's not like they don't notice when something breaks... Finally, although the owner always assured me they really "cared" about us and wanted to do what's best, they finally told us to go find business elsewhere as they were tired of us complaining about their services. I guess this is a tough business, and unless you do it yourself, your employees will never care as much as the owners. Also, I don't know if they're just bold and don't care, or just didn't think - but we heard them talk about us (between each other), in a very unpleasant way (rude comments, nasty names). I'm pretty sure they will deny it - but unfortunately for them, they once did this in front of couple native Spanish speakers we had at our house, who understood perfectly well what was being said, and were able to confirm our imperfect translations. Not very professional. OHC is in my opinion perfect for deep cleanings as I've never seen a company clean a house that deep & well (although, they do charge you accordingly for it ;-) ). But for recurring services, I personally would not recommend them as do like many others in the same business: quality declines a few months after starting. I'm very disappointed this turned out to be a cleaning company cliché."

I purchased this housecleaning through an Angie's Deal, which covered a full list of cleaning tasks, no matter how long it took for a fixed, and fair, price. I was able to schedule my appointment fairly easily, although I did have to follow up with a few emails to lock in a final date/time.

On the day of service, a team of three maids arrived at my home. They were about 1/2 hour late, however, so I called their office to inquire as to their whereabouts, and the owner (I think?) said she hadn't heard there was any problem or delay, and would follow up. But they actually arrived a few minutes later, so must have been on their way. (If they were going to be late, I would have appreciated a call just so I wasn't wondering if they'd forgotten the appointment altogether.)

Regarding the cleaning itself, the major issue I think people should be aware of is that NONE of the three maids spoke any English!!!! Fortunately I speak Spanish, so I was able to communicate my basic instructions regarding special requests (e.g., some particular products they needed to use on the countertops or floors, things that were fragile that they shouldn't both cleaning, etc.), as well as other things like the fact that they didn't need to change the sheets or do a few other things that could have been included had I wanted. I honestly don't know how I would have handled this had I not been able to communicate with them. Note that I have had other non-English speakers to do housecleaning or other jobs at my house, but in those cases there was always one member of the team who could translate -- not to have anyone was unusual to say the least!  

As for the quality of the cleaning, overall they did a good job, and the house was definitely clean. After they were completed with each floor, they would ask me to look it over to make sure everything was okay, which I appreciated. There were a few areas that they needed to follow up on (e.g., in the master bath, they left whole areas of the floor, toilet, etc. without rinsing off the cleaning product/soap), but they always went back and did whatever was needed without  question until I was satisfied. I appreciated that professionalism. Later, after they left, I did actually wonder whether they did the refrigerator and oven cleaning that was promised in the Angie's Deal. Neither was particularly dirty when they got here, and if they did do any cleaning in either place it certainly didn't seem like a full-blown cleaning (again, not a big deal for me, but you might want to pay attention to this if this is one of the reasons you select this Deal).

Probably because of the communication issues mentioned above, there were some window shades that I had asked that they not touch because they were 'precarious' (i.e., the roman shade connections were about to fail), but the maid did it anyway causing some problems. It wasn't a tragedy, but I would have preferred that she'd left them alone, since it just meant more work for me to get them back in place.

Anyway, all in all, I did feel that I got good quality service for the money I paid. I would definitely consider using Best Quality Cleaners again if there were a similarly priced deal in the future.
