"These guys do not mess around!! They come ready to work!! They came in on the first day and removed/trucked away all existing chain link fence. They then proceeded to dig new holes and prep the area. They erected temporary barrier fence so that our dogs could still use the back yard. On the 2nd day, they set and pored concrete on all posts. On the 3rd day, they installed the fence and gates. Amazing speed and quality work. <br /> The project mgr. Kale even made contact with me to say he was not pleased with how one of the gates looked and said he wished to order a new one to allow better closed gaps and privacy (he took the words right out of my mouth and I didn't have to mention it)-it is clear that they want to be satisfied with the job as much as the customer would! These guys left a clean site after construction and were very responsive to any questions we had. <br /> I hired this company at the recommendation of a good friend who had previously used them for the fence at his new house. The recommendation was 'spot on'. <br /> Be advised, if you attempt to call the business number and get not answer, it is due to their being out on job sites. If you leave a message or email, they WILL get back to you. <br />"

"Cory was great.  I did not know him nor had I heard about Reveal Excavation.  I found his number on Craigslist when I was trying to get two or three bids from different people for my project.  Cory was quick to provide a bid and pointed out things with sprinklers and the grade of the hill that I did not notice as a homeowner.  He was careful to minimize the driving of the Bobcat on my lawn to not damage it.  The top soil he brought was high quality with no rocks in it and he leveled it perfectly with the rest of the yard.  Without me saying anything, he cleared and swept the sidewalk clean at the end of each day of work and clean up the job site at the end of each day.  He did a great job and the price seemed fair to me.  Without reservation, I would not hesitate to hire Cory."

"I contracted with Barrett Concrete cutting to install two egress windows. I was only able to get one competitive bid and did find that his prices were reasonable. Having been a cabinet builder and personally done a number of construction-type projects, I tend to be a bit of a stickler on details. While I may have exacted more of myself with respect to precision of cuts and quality of work, I am satisfied with the quality of work as performed by Barrett Concrete Cutting. Besides, cutting concrete is not in my field of expertise. Jim was prompt in getting back to me regarding my project. He came and performed the work before I even got a call back from one of his competitors. To be fair, I usually move fairly decisively on things like this, so unless someone responds quickly, they are not likely to have a chance to work with me. The one source of dissatisfaction is with how quickly the work got done. Having spent some time in the contracting business, I can appreciate that there are some challenges with securing good help, and tools sometimes require maintenance/repair. Both these challenges manifested during work on my home and slowed progress some. Despite that, there were no serious concerns/time constraints for our project. Jim was generally good about communicating the timeline of the job and keeping me informed on any challenges along the way. To the best of my knowledge, he fulfilled his end of the contract quite well, even with some of the indecisiveness he had to deal with from me and my wife. Overall, I am satisfied with the work that was done and appreciate the extra light in our basement. We are well on our way to having the finished basement project that we wanted thanks to Jim."

"The owner of Vantage Point Construction is Chad Bustad; he does all window and door installations for Home Depot in Missoula, but will install any brand of window or door the customer wants.  He also does home remodeling.  My first contact with Mr. Bustad was in late July, when he measured all the windows in my house.  The windows arrived on the exact date I was told they would, and Mr. Bustad gave me a call on August 5 to schedule a time to install the windows.  He and a partner installed the first 7 windows in 7 hours.  He and his crew (another member came in the afternoon) worked quickly and efficiently.  Nothing in house was damaged, including doorways, and Mr. Bustad was careful to protect my hardwood floors and sweep up any construction pieces. <br /> Two weeks later, my large (12' x 6') picture window came in.  It had to be shipped separately because of the size, and then it was framed on site.  As I am an old lady, Mr. Bustad noticed there were things I hadn't been able to move; of course, I helped him notice them. <br /> What pleased me most is the windows look exactly like what I had had for 40 years, with beautiful molding, and he "hand made" the interior framing to make sure everything fit.  I have seen other installations of vinyl windows that look cheap.  These windows are vinyl with wood framing on the inside that has been primed for painting. <br /> I would definitely hire this contractor again if I need any more remodeling done."

"The work provided by Tschida Painting is thorough and complete. All of my concerns were addressed with knowledge and confidence. He kept me informed about day to day activity, time-frame, details about the condition of my house and answered all of my questions with past experience. Friendly conversation that helped me learn about his work all along the way. After listening to his quote for the job and walking around the property I felt confident in hiring his service. He is able to point out problems and areas that need work prior to paint application to protect my investment and keep him moving forward. This was my first time having my exterior house painted. I would quickly hire Clint again. Nice guy, hard worker and exceeded my expectations. Interior painting rates for work during the winter were offered as well."

" It looked great when finished, but there was a small problem with the slant to the west not getting done. Dean immediately recognized the problem. He stated that it had to be done right and brought his crew back tore out the part of the slab that was off and replaced it. Now it not only looks perfect, it is perfect. He even put topsoil fill on the sides.. <br /> <br /> So many times I have had contractors make mistakes and not own them. With Dean, showing him the problem and having him address it in a thoughtful pleasant fashion was UNBELIEVABLY REFRESHING. <br /> This  project was a difficult problem to solve and Dean addressed it well. <br /> I cannot recommend Dean and his crew strongly enough. His work is professional, his crew good to deal with. He was prompt both on the original project and fixing the repair.I wish I had more work for him to do."

"The key to any successful remodel is communication and flexibility. Cole was very attentive to my needs and requirements and provided valuable suggestions in addition to excellent craftsmanship. <br /> He suggested a way to save on the tile required for the floor and shower. He also found a very reasonably priced source for the cabinetry. I saved so much through his suggestions that I was able to afford a custom granite top. <br /> <br /> From beginning to end the job went very smoothly. Cole was on the job and the work progressed smoothly, exactly as he promised. He was on-site when he said he would be and completed each stage of the work as he predicted. If I had questions, he was easy to reach. <br /> The dry wall sub he brought in was also excellent and did a superb job matching the texture and finish of the existing wall. <br /> <br /> All in all a terrific job and I am very happy with the results."

"Pat was punctual with his estimate and followed up with me to review the estimate.  His contract was thorough, included documentation of work to be done and the expectations of both T. S. Phoenix and myself.  He was punctual when starting the job and completed it on schedule.  During the job, he explained what he was doing and why, what materials he was using and why, and told me what to expect going forward.  Good communication both before and during the job.  Professional in all ways. <br />"

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Stevensville, MT

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
