"We had an old two story home demolished. They brought in dirt to level the area. He worked hard to be sure we had the end result we had hoped for!"

"I’m extremely pleased with the job done and the care taken to protect the plants around my deck. I appreciated the prompt response to my request for a quote as well as the job being completed by the date given. It was great getting answers to my questions in advance. Thank you for that, Mindy!"

"Did a great job! I had talked to other concrete businesses, and one could come out to give me an estimate in 2 weeks, and the other in 6 weeks! AAA had me send some photos (I live about an hour away) and said they could do the job the following week. The job was all completed exactly one week after I first called! Front stoop is now all on one level and looks much, much better. One side of the driveway required several mudjacking attempts, but they finally got it raised. Now the driveway is high enough that one can step easily from the driveway to the stoop, and I won't need to add a stair step somewhere, as I originally thought, which will save me some time and money. They put caulking between the sections of the stoop afterwards, and repaired some footing that fractured in the process, and did a good job of cleaning up afterwards. David is very good about talking with the customer about options, suggestions, etc. Prices are reasonable, and much more affordable than other options. Would highly recommend AAA Mudjackers."

"Very well. My sidewalk had settled and was causing a trip hazard. The estimate was done via email due to my tight timeline. Sent them pictures and received a response the next day. Actual cost was $25 over the estimate due to site characteristics not apparent on my photos but still sounded reasonable to me. They leveled 5 sidewalk squares including my front porch stoop. Work was done in a little over an hour and looks great!"

"The work done was excellent. We got 2 bothrooms tub to shower conversions and an entry door. We felt we were TOTALLY misled by our salesman on the financing front. We wanted the 24 month SAC financing, and the entire conversation there was mention of that. The job was recently completed and those were not the terms of the contract. All I have to say, double check what you are signing, even if the whole conversation prior to signing is indicative of the deal you think you are getting, double check that you are not being misled and if you think you are getting 24 months interest free, make sure that is what is in the contract. Don't be trusting and complacent that all salesmen are not slippery. It is a total salesman move and it works - very scummy business move. And ask for an itemized list of what you are getting, like what the shower seat costs, what the caddy costs. These totals of this job and this job - very blase and vanilla. So, the numbers can be padded to absorb the "sale" tha"

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Stockwell, IN

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
