"I can't say enough good things about Oliver and Authority Foundation Repair. They are timely and professional, and everything far exceeded my expectations. Oliver gave me a very reasonable quote, explained everything clearly, started work the very next day, and was finished with an extensive foundation repair in only two days. They arrived with a whole team of professionals and got right to work. Our house is very old, and in a remote location, but Oliver went above and beyond what would normally be expected to ensure that our job was done correctly, and in a record amount of time. The price was very reasonable too. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for foundation repair."

"This work spanned six to eight weeks owing to weather delays. All work was coordinated with the customer including extensive communications between the primary contractor and his subs. All work was done from to satisfactory to excellent in quality. Mr. Long and his crews worked very hard long hours. The work required breaking out some bed rock. Mr. Long's design work was excellent and visionary. This project began as a basic plan to replace the retaining wall and install the steps up to the street from the drive apron. Their work took us from a home drive and entrance which resembled a delivery entrance and turned it into a show piece approach to our beloved home. <br /> Any issues which arose as the work progressed was immediately addressed in a positive and effective manner by the general contractor, Billy Long, Gardens at the Ridge proprietor and all his subcontractors. They accommodated all of our thoughts and ideas and addressed some minor complaints very effectively, making adjustments at no additional charge. All work was completed as expeditiously as possible given the adverse weather. All work came in at or under budget. Based on other contractors we had estimate portions of this project, this contractor was somewhat higher but within 10-15%. However because of excellent recommendations from satisfied customers over many years we went with them. In any case we believe we got what we paid for and more. This project completion exceeded our wildest expectations. We unequivocally recommend the folks from Gardens at the Ridge to anyone considering any type of landscaping or stone work."

"Francesca was prompt for our first meeting. She listened to what I wanted, and she was great at designing something that would make the most of the small space in my yard. Her explanations were thorough, and she continues to be extremely responsive, answering VERY quickly. The process of getting started is moving quickly, as well."

"Three small ocotillos ($195) were refused  as being greatly over-priced -- they were so very small that there was no need to pay anyone to plant them -- they could be done with a hand trowel.  Two little apricot trees ($290) were also refused as being overpriced, and with careless bark damage.   <br /> I had hoped to do a much larger project: trellises with grapes, raised garden, additional shrubs, along with some removal of dead material after the cold winter, etc.  His verbal estimates of some of the work were so high, that I found other people to do it, did it myself, or postponed it.  He was not eager to please the customer.  I was prepared to spend a substantial sum if I had found a responsive and knowledgeable provider. I was disappointed.   <br /> Mr. Korody may have been too busy to pay much attention to my project, I don't know.  He seemed very professional when he first came to talk, but didn't follow through well.  He seemed to have little knowledge of horticulture, and little feel for plant materials.  His promotional photos featured hardscaping, but we didn't get that far in my project, so I can't speak to his skills in that area. <br /> If we had had a productive working relationship, cost alone would not have deterred me from continuing with him.  I felt he was unresponsive, perhaps even dismissive, and I was concerned about his lack of interest and knowledge regarding plant materials.  If he hasn't completed the Master Gardener program, I would recommend it to him. I hesitated to do this review for some time, but I think it only fair to others to get it done.I'd like to put in a good word for the two young men who were actually doing the work.  They were hard-working, pleasant, and concerned with doing a good job."

"I am very pleased with the quality of the work performed by RWJJR construction.  Bob was very professional and knowledgeable though the entire project life-cycle, from bid and proposal until final walk-through.  He provided innovative solutions to the complex issues associated with resolving structural problems with my building, and all the steel work associated with building my aviary.  He did a good job of coordinating the Electrical, Insulation, Plumbing, Flooring, and HVAC subcontractors.  The work not performed by the subcontractors was well performed by Sergio and his team. <br />  The job included fixing the bowing walls of a 45? by 26? standalone garage that was 22? tall at its peak; insulating the walls and ceiling and adding a damper controlled HVAC system; adding a 2nd floor with a kitchenette, full bath, HVAC, hot water and storage rooms; building out a 25.5? by 15.5? bird aviary including FRP walls, welded steel frame 11? tall cages, a kitchenette with cabinets, exhaust fans and specialized lighting and electrical work including a new house panel, a sub panel and transfer switch, 5 timers and a generator backup; creating a shop; finishing out the car parking area; and adding an industrial epoxy floor for all 1st floor areas. <br />  Bob and his team are very customer oriented and will not leave until you are satisfied.  I recommend RWJJR to others in the area and I will use this team again. <br />"

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Sulphur Springs, TX

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
