"Josh’s work on my roof was sloppy and his response has been abysmal. Below is a description of my experience along with photos. I paid Josh $9,204.80 to replace my garage roof in December 2022. On April 4, 2025 I noticed many drip spots on the floor underneath the section of the roof he replaced, and I saw a gap in the roofline. I called Josh about the issue. On April 23, a fellow representing Josh named Ernesto inspected the roof. He said the work was poor. He pointed out places where roofing nails punctured the roof and discolored plywood showed water damage. He said that the gap in the roofline was a problem. He sent photos to Josh. No word from Josh, so I called him on April 30th and left a message, no response. I made several follow up calls and no response. Josh's company botched the job and he doesn't have the professionalism or decency to respond to inquiries let alone fix his shoddy work. I think it's important for people to know these facts before using this company."

"I don't even think I need to add words for you to see how happy I am with this project. I mean just look at it!! I had a vague vision of what I wanted and Matthew from Rainier Ridge made it a reality. I have nothing bad to say about the outcome or the overall experience. I cant go outside now without everyone who passes telling me how amazing it looks. About a year ago I contacted a few contractors for just the deck and it was almost the same price for all of this. My father was a construction foreman with the Seattle Union most of his life so of course he had to check out the work after and he said the work was amazing. Matt also knew I didn't know much about construction but made sure I was always in the loop and understood what they were doing and why. If there was a change or recommendation he would ask and detail the extra charges if I wanted to but never pressured me. New projects like this can be so intimidating but it honestly couldn't have gone any better or easier. "

"Unfortunately we had a pretty bad experience having our house re-sided with Planet Builders. Things started out well, Marcio and crew are very friendly and easy to talk to, but what was originally quoted as a ?4 week project? became a 3 month project. After the first week, they would only appear after repeated texting asking when they were coming back - and then they would be there and work for a couple days and then disappear again. They started in April and by the time they were finished, we were told it was too late into fall to paint. :( Also, they replaced a couple windows as part of the siding job and did a lot of damage to the inside of the house that we had to have repaired. The siders also covered over our fully functioning attic fan! We could not figure out why our house was so hot- and my husband went outside and said where the vent for the attic?! (It was under the siding). I complained to Marcio about the delays and the damage and he gave me $500 back (from a $30k project). Marcio was so nice, I wish the construction experience had been nice too!"

Identified the cause of the rotting bottom structure of our rear deck pillars. Recommend different planking material that would not be subject to water. Removes damaged structure and installed with new non wood planks. damage. Work completed by professional carpenters and painters. "

"Modernized Exteriors seem to have built a decent deck for a decent price but in a somewhat sloppy and dishonest way. First, they left hundreds of pieces of debris including over 100 nails, screws, and other fasteners, and hundreds of pieces of the old deck lying around, including some pieces over six feet long, many with embedded nails sticking out. For months, nearly every time my daughters went out to play they came back with a handful of nails and screws. Second, the old deck had a notch through which the gutter downspout passed to reach the drain in the ground. Instead of cutting a notch for the downspout, they just tossed it behind a bush allowing the gutter to empty directly onto the deck. They promised a 12-month warranty, saying they'd come out to correct any defects. When I mentioned the disconnected gutter they initially said they'd fix it, but then ignored my follow-up messages when I asked them to actually do it. So they may not honor their promises."
