"Mike installed a new underground gas line for our inground pool heater. He did and amazing job! He was so fast and hardworking but also personable and prefessional. He answered all of my questions in an easy-to-understand way for someone who isn't in the industry. I felt I could trust him and didn't feel I was being overcharged or taken advantage of. Will definitely be calling Mike again for any of our future needs. 10/10!"

"Erika at Re-Bath of the Triad persisted and I am glad she did. Because I did relinquish and talk to their representative before I going ahead with the 24 hour "One Day" folks. I needed a complete remodel of my main floor bathroom, and I mean even the flooring. They actually gave me a stunning Full Bathroom remodel for Near the same price the other company was charging for a just a shower. And when Re-Bath of the Triad says, " down to the studs" THEY MEAN IT. I had bought the home in 1998 and it still had the pathetic, aged, bath surround and prior history of 2 failed toilet and sink installs. The dark , stunning flooring, the new vanity sink made of mahogany, the walk-in shower with Brazilian wood seat that folds up or down as needed. The Fixtures are fashionable as a well as dependably functionable. And the One fellow (Chris F.) is the maestro who masterfully handled the entire install. A true artisan /Craftsman. His attention to detail and pride in the job "BEST DONE" ..made me weep with happy tears. The walk-in shower is all a anyone could ever hope for.*The floor was taken down to the original 1905 beams .. and built back beautifully with dark flooring that I had chosen. I could see my cellar underneath. I have seldom been this delighted with an a man-made environment. But this is Everything."

"The plumber came within the hour of my calling for an emergency because the water would not turn off. He correct the problem temporarily until he could procure the Foreign part and repair another part. He returned the next day and completed the job. Everything then worked perfectly."

"During the ice storm, I learned we had a ruptured sewer line in the crawl space under our house.  Drain and Sewer Medic was recommended by a friend of mine.  When I called the owner, John, was very nice and told me, "It is not the end of the world. We will take care of you. Please don't worry." At 8:00am the next morning, John called me to let me know he was at our house. He had driven there in the ice and freezing rain. When I asked if he was really there (we had to evacuate our home), he said, "I told you, if I could make it, I would get here." John and his co-worker dug down 2 feet to reach the pipe and replaced 21 feet of the sewer line. They also cleaned the mess for me. John waited a few days to make sure I was happy and everything was in great working order, before handing me the bill. I was amazed at the price and almost kissed him! You would need to pay me a BUNCH more to do that work! I will call upon Drain and Sewer Medic for all of my plumbing needs in the future."

"While I would have preferred to be notified that their schedule would not allow them to keep an appointment earlier in the day, Cody Clark made up for the delay. His professionalism and confidence was gratifying to see. The work was excellent. I've used Mr. Rooter over the years, but this service call was a pleasure that will keep me coming back."

"The 1st guy showed up with no tools drained 100 gallon's of rusty water on my driveway! He didn't check the elements. Ordered new ones for a 25 year old water heater which was rusted out on the bottom band. 2nd time he came out he couldn't get the elements out to replace them because of all the rust. So I was w/o hot water again. So the Company had to order a new water heater. Another repairman came out and installed it. This one didn't work so again no hot water unreal! So another Plumbing Company had to be called in to repair the new water heater Parlier installed. I would never call them out for anything. I told the 1st guy that the water heater was rusted out the one that came out with no tools and had to borrow my husbands tools. If he would have checked the element he would have seen how rusty they where. It was no way possible to get the old element out. The water heater was rusted out inside no repairing it."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Supply, NC

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
