"This company is AMAZING!!! They worked harder than any other plumbing company I have hired previously to help me with my problematic sewer drain problem. Zach the owner went Above and Beyond what any other company was willing to do. If I could rate them 10 stars, I would."

"I hired Crossflow Plumbing to install a gas line to my kitchen for a new appliance. Christopher (the owner/operator) was very prompt getting me on his schedule and his estimate was significantly lower than other companies. He did a great job and even came back to hook up the gas when the company that I paid to install the appliance wouldn't do it. I will definitely call Crossflow Plumbing for any plumbing needs in the future!"

"Plumber's supplier closed. Purchased sink drain apparatus from Home Depot. Usually not impressed with quality of most Home Depot products. We'll see how these hold up.
The price for the service and parts seemed WAY over the top.
The overall experience, otherwise, was OK.

"Went great! After contacting two other Angie's list "recommended" businesses, who either never showed up after making appt, or called back, I gave it one more shot. I called JSC Handyman. They were very busy, but seemed to be as concerned I was about the fence falling over, and worked us in. They set a time for 9am Wednesday, and they showed up just before. I also got a call in advance letting me know they were on their way. THIS IS HOW IT IS SUPPOSED TO WORK (to all you service providers!). They did a bang-up, quality job. Would definitely recommend and use again."

"Called one Angie’s List vendor who did not return my call. Called Seth Driggs who was working on a job, but said he’d see me in an hour or so. He showed up on time, and gave me estimates of what the low or high should be to get our drain working again. The drain proved to be uncooperative, he ran his snake out 75 feet, reinstalled the toilet and it still wasn’t working properly. He ran back to the shop to get a cutting end for the snake, removed the toilet, and ran the snake out 75 feet again. We suspected that a grandchild had put something in the drain, but nothing ever tangled in the snake’s end. At any rate, Seth was determined to get it working, an charged me what he’d quoted if he only had pulled the toilet once, although he had to pull it twice and reseal it twice. I highly recommend Seth Driggs for your plumbing needs based on our experience!"

"Great response, very knowledgeable - even the company who installed my legacy 26 yr old system didn't know where the filters went (A1 Heating) yet the tech at Tully's knew exactly where. Very professional presentation and speedy install. I didn't get another quote as I was so impressed with them. Even if they are more expensive it's worth dealing with a quality company who knows what they are doing."

FAQs for sump pump or interior foundation drains installation projects in Sweet, ID

Most residential pumps draw approximately 1,300 to 2,900 watts when they first start, then settle at roughly 800 to 1,050 watts during normal operation. The exact number depends on the motor’s horsepower and how often the float switch tells the pump to run. Even at the high end, the electricity cost is minor compared with the expense of cleaning up a flooded basement.

Grab a ruler and an empty 18‑inch‑wide pit. During a steady rain, time how much the water rises in one minute. Multiply that depth (in inches) by 60 to calculate gallons per hour, then add 50% for safety. If the result tops 2,100 gallons per hour—about 35 gallons a minute—you’ll need a 3/4‑horsepower unit. Anything lower, and a 1/3- or 1/2-horsepower pump should do the trick.

Loud rattling, constant cycling, or shuddering vibrations are the pump’s way of telling you it’s on its last legs. Musty smells, higher electric bills, and visible rust are other red flags. If the unit is 10 years old or older and exhibits any of these symptoms, replace it before the next heavy rain turns your basement into a wading pool.

You don’t have to hire a licensed plumber, but you should still bring in someone who installs sump pumps for a living—whether that’s a plumber, basement‑waterproofing specialist, or experienced handyman. They know the local codes, can wire the pump safely, and will test the system before they leave. Skipping professional help might void the warranty and could leave you with a pump that fails when you need it most.

Not every basement needs a pump, but if your home sits in a floodplain, has a high water table, or has ever taken on water during a storm, a sump pump is inexpensive insurance. For basements that only struggle with condensation or the occasional damp spot, sealing cracks and improving drainage may be all that is needed.
