"DO NOT USE: We were quoted $6K for a shower kit install. Upon completion of the work, it was immediately apparent that the installation was defective and did not meet acceptable industry standards. Specifically: No water membrane was installed behind the shower kit, rendering the installation non-compliant with waterproofing best practices. No caulking was applied to seal seams, leaving the installation vulnerable to water intrusion and damage. The walls and surrounding trim were not plumb, which made it impossible to install a functioning shower door. A McLendon's supervisor subsequently inspected the installation onsite and acknowledged the poor workmanship. We were informed that the matter would be addressed, but despite multiple follow-up phone calls, we received no further communication or resolution from McLendon's. Nevertheless, the remaining balance of $3,100 was charged to our account without our authorization or consent and without any resolution."

"We had a wonderful experience having our new units installed by Sunset Air. Our initial contact Jessie was great to work with. The installation team of Ian, Jason, and Michael, and the Electricians Tristan and Justin were all very professional and did a great job. Jessie made several trips to our home, confirming our system as the team at Sunset Air put together a plan and identified what system would best suit our needs. The team was able to troubleshoot our old 1970 furnace and heat pump system. The system was a unique installation in an outside furnace room with a lot of the plumbing running under the home. Removal was quick. The new installation required some custom-designed Ductwork and some changes to the electrical system to ensure proper installation. The installation team was always on time, and when they left, you would never have known they were there; they took everything with them daily. Once the system was complete, we received a comprehensive run-through of the entire system and tips for maintaining the overall system. We were kept informed all the way through the process. Ian and Michael went the extra mile at the end and noticed the UV Units were not working correctly because our custom system wasn’t providing enough pressure to turn the units on. They spent the time troubleshooting and custom fabricating a workaround on the fly, adjusting to ensure the system was working. We had our County Inspection the next day, and the County inspector was impressed and had great things to say about the installation. We hesitated for years to replace the furnaces because with an old farmhouse, everything turns into a “CUSTOM” Job and typically is full of heartache and pain with cost overruns and the “What We thought was.” Not with these guys. They came in, did a fantastic job, and finished not just on time, which has never happened at our home. They Finished Early !! Thank you to the whole team at Sunset Air. "I bought my first and only house in 2015. I noticed my roof had started leaking in my living/dining room this late winter/early spring. I spent lots of time researching roofing on the internet so that I would make a somewhat intelligent decision when it came to making such a huge financial decision on my house. Part of that research included BBB and Angie's List for the best companies. I picked four different companies and decided on GAFCO and I am thrilled that I did. I don't like to put people's names in reviews because I don't know if people want their name on the internet but the woman who came to inspect the roof was phenomenal. She climbed over and under and through everything. She was polite and professional and didn't make me feel stupid for asking questions. She pointed things out to me and explained why I would need new roof decking and other products. She gave me time to research the products and processes that I didn't know. When she learned that this was my first house and that I am pretty clueless about this stuff, she pointed out things that I should keep my eye on in the near future. And she did it without dropping, "I have a guy for that," or, "GAFCO can do that for you. Let me up sell you on this." She honestly cared and did it without any sort of financial gain for herself. She helped me through the paperwork part without being condescending or exasperated with my unending questions. She was always available to me via text. She was a great low pressure sales woman. Oh, and she was on time! Once the contract was signed, she let me know when the products would be delivered and work would start. They came out with a crane truck and stored as much of the product on the roof as possible. I think it was about 10 days after the contract went through and then the work started. The roofers were professional and I think it was a quick job (having never been through this process before). They tore off my old shingles all the way to the original shiplap. They placed new roof decking on a 40 square roof, all the layers, and new shingles and TPO for our deck and supply room in a week. They cleaned up after themselves when the job was done. When I had concerns about the roof, the owner came out to look at the roof himself. He clearly cares about his customers and his business. He listened to my concerns about the fascia and solved them. He too has been available by text for my concerns. I believe the gutters are contracted out but they were fast, quick, and professional. The gutters look nice and new. They were done in less than a day. All in all, it was a good experience. Sorry for the long post but I think they deserve it."

"We were very happy with our decision to hire Douglas to design a basement addition and kitchen remodel. We interviewed several architects and designers before hiring Douglas. Douglas had the lowest bid by far but his bid included support from design all the way through permitting. Douglas patiently worked through several iterations of the design with us until we had a design we could take to contractors for bidding. Douglas made several major revisions during the project based on feedback from the city permitting office, contractor, and structural engineer. Overall it was a great experience and far more affordable than the architects. I have a feeling the architects would have charged us for every revision but Douglas was true to his word that his original fee covered us all the way through the process!"
