"After years of unsuccessfully addressing water damage around windows in an upstairs room by focusing on the window frames and the brickwork around the windows, I asked W. E. Griffin Roofing (whom I had used previously for relatively minor roofing repairs) to evaluate whether the roof was a factor. Matt Hoffman determined that significant work had to be done including substantially rebuilding two dormers, removing and replacing valleys and flashing, and replacing the roof on the dormers. As in the case of previous and subsequent jobs, Griffin's work crew was very professional and conscientious at all times. They cleared all rubble and tools from the site every day, and the job was started and completed on schedule. In the 4 years since this work was done and the interior water damage repaired, there has been no further sign of water damage in that room. I completely trust the advice I have received from Matt Hoffman over the past 7 years since I first used W. E. Griffin. In addition to the work described above as well as routine preventive maintenance, I have also engaged the company to repair gutters, replace incorrectly installed snow guards, replace failed chimney flashing, fabricate and install catch boxes to prevent leaf blockage of downspouts, as well as routine preventive maintenance. "The estimator came within a few days of my initial call. He was prepared to explain what a Solatube is. We had already seen them in a neighbor's house so he proceeded to see where we wanted them. He looked in the attic, took some measurements, and provided a written estimate on the spot. The estimate included the Angie's List discount. The installation was scheduled around some other contractors. On installation day, the team hit traffic but called to explain their delay. Jeff and Eddy proceeded to place the skylights and mark where the holes would go in the roof. They did a very careful and thorough job with the exterior installation; Amazing Skylights are very proud of their no leaks ever record and work hard to maintain that. While one installer was on the roof the other was preparing the duct work to go between the diffuser and the roof installation. The product is designed so that it accommodates any angle between the ceiling and the roof by simply twisting the articulated ducting. It is a very clever design and an easy way to ensure an exact fit. One of the solatubes was replacing an existing ceiling light fixture and we used that wiring to power a light kit in that solatube. There was a problem with the original light kit. The team ran a several tests to isolate the problem and concluded that it was a bad part. At no time did they even hint that it was something wrong with the existing light fixture. They replaced the faulty light kit with a new one and completed their work. The interior and exterior fit and finish is excellent. We've had several bouts of very severe thunderstorms as well as some prolonged soaking rains and there are no leaks. We are delighted with the light these solatubes provide, even on cloudy days. It looks like some left a bright light on in the interior bathroom and the hallway where we installed these solatubes."

"I hired Moses Williamson to clear my gutters and downspouts. His crew noticed cement debris laying on the roof. Moses inspected the damage and it turned out I had a damaged chimney crown that required replacement. In addition, the brick chimney needed tuckpointing in several places to refill the mortar joints. His crew replaced the cement crown, tuckpointed the chimney, and applied a clear sealer over the entire surface. Based on Mosesâ recommendation I agreed to have the brick facade spot tuckpointed and sealed. In truth I had previously noticed small spots of missing mortar on the brick front but had simply put off addressing. I found Moses to be knowledgeable, professional and friendly. He showed me photos of the crown damage, and patiently answered my many questions. And yes, the gutters and downspouts were cleared.
