"Cabinet Restoration Co is top notch! It was a very pleasant and easy experience for me. I would do it again in a heartbeat! I wish I could rate it 10 ⭐️! Pete gave me great choices for cabinet doors, moldings, etc. while other companies gave me only one choice. Each door lines up perfectly using the best hinges. The installer, Steve, took his time and created a magnificent look. What an excellent, professional artist he is! He is very talented craftsman and I trusted his judgement 100%, since he has many years of experience. I cannot rave enough about the skill and craftsmanship of my new kitchen! If you choose another company you are making a big mistake. I promise that you will have absolutely no regrets and it will be worth your wait! I promise you that!"

"The company was awesome! I needed 2 drawers made for my kitchen cabinet. I couldn't find any other company that would make just the 2 drawers. Every company who came just wanted to give me a whole new kitchen which I didn't want. But E&V understand my needs and got it done quickly and I no longer have the unpleasant sight of 2 gaping hole in my kitchen cabinets. Thank you E&V!"

"Before the work began, the owner gave great advice on what would look good together without pushing any product. The work started on time and finished early. Everything was done with excellent workmanship. It turned out better than expected! Upon completion, everything was cleaned up extremely well and I didn't have to do any cleaning myself."

"I hired Michael Dickensheets of Winchester Remodeling to do a major renovation of my condo which consisted of a complete redesign of my kitchen (moving the location of every appliance), a full gut of two bathrooms (one with shower and one with bathtub), installing over 20 recessed lights and reframing a door on my laundry closet. Mike was easy to work with and very responsive. I consider my self pretty detail oriented and did a lot of research about renovations prior to hiring Mike. He didn't have many reviews so I asked him for two references who both spoke highly about Mikes work. I am very pleased with the quality of the work and the final result. I would 100% hire Mike again."

"Clarksville Construction is the WORST contractor I have ever worked with. From day one, the project was a complete mess. The quality of the work was terrible, filled with mistake after mistake. The job involved installing a new door and replacing wood with PVC panels around the bay windows and the chimney box -- a relatively simple project, one would think. However, it was anything but simple for Clarksville Construction. Find a better contractor and save yourself all these problems. If you know of any, please add them in the comments. Here is a list of some of the problems encountered. 1. On the first day, the crew did not bring a generator, which caused the circuit breaker to trip repeatedly. 2. On the second day, a drill was left on top of the chimney, which was very dangerous. My neighbors noticed it. They also commented that the crew's performance led them to decide not to use Clarksville Construction for their future projects. 3.I observed that a section of cracked 2x10 wood.."

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in Taneytown, MD

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
