"It was a very good deal and they did a great job. It was a minor thing, I called them in response to a home inspection where I needed some minor repairs to my roof. <br /> <br /> They were timely, professional and did a good job. I would definitely refer them to a friend of family."

"Our weather has been extremely wet with more than 7 inches of rain in a short period of time.  So roofers were in extreme demand.  When I called their office number and explained what I needed and where I lived the lady informed me that he was working in my area and gave me his cell phone to call.  I left a message and he returned my call within a few hours.  He was working on a roof but would stop by after he finished to look at it and give me an estimate.  When the work was completed a couple of days later he charged me less than the original quote.  <br /> <br />"

"Mike Borders and TECHWEST have been in business in the Albuquerque area for many years. It's a family operation and came highly recommended in our area by satisfied customers. I contacted a number of roofers with different approaches before I talked to TECHWEST. Mike was clear and thorough in his explanation of process and product, and very good to deal with. His price was very competitive and includes a 10-year warranty as well as a yearly inspection. He kept me informed of his team's availability and weather conditions that affected start date and completion. His crew was courteous and efficient. He coordinated with our solar company to remove and reinstall solar equipment after reroofing. All in all it was a good experience from start to finish. <br />"

"It's been 8 years since my roof was done and it still looks great. I guess the best compliment I've had in a while came from my neighbor who chose Fort Seldon Roofing based on my recommendation and told me how satisfied he was with the entire experience. He said he paid a little more for his energy efficient TPO roof than ordinary roofs from competing roofers but he knows the investment will pay off for years."

"McPartlon sent someone to our home to inspect our roof. We have no real issues other than minor cracking and wanted to know how best to proceed. Everything about the interaction McPartlon was professional except for the recommended course of action and estimation. <br /> After looking at our roof and taking a core sample McPartlon suggestion tearing off all the existing roofing, replacing the skylights, and adding insulation. Because this was the first company to visit our home I was pretty much sold on this being what needed to be done. However, the next company to visit our home looked at our roof and told us the existing roof needed some 'minor patching' beyond which our roof was in good condition and would last at least 10 or 15 more years. To me this says a lot. While I do believe that McPartlon could very well do excellent work I also think that there is a good chance they are going to try to sell you much more than you actually need. I get it, up selling makes money - however, it also costs money. In closeing, my suggestion is to shop around I dont think McPartlon is the best bet. I wont name names but take a look at the providers in the area and the number and quality of their reviews here."

"This was the most pleasant move we have ever experienced. The company was response, friendly, considerate and very professional. They did the job quickyl, in inclement weather and without causing any damage to any of our very delicate and expensive furniture and belongings. I would very much recommend them to anyone. Best movers ever!!"

"I wrote a very different review for another job that this company did for me a few years ago but I did hire them again since they owed me a refund on some insulation they did not install the last time on the other roof and their estimate was again reasonable. This time they put all the insulation down that they quoted on and did a very good job installing the membrane roofing over it. They also gave me a very good warranty that is even transferable in case the house gets sold. I can't figure out how to delete the old review I wrote but here is my new one. This time the experience was much much better. The crew also did a great job cleaning up after themselves at the end of each day."

"I cannot say enough good things about this company. I had a terrible experience getting quotes for a roof removal and repair with many bids coming back tens of thousands of dollars over priced. Travis walked me through all of my options, gave me a fair quote and was the first person to suggest that I might not need a new roof in the first place. He did a core sample to see if moisture was in my roof and when it came back negative didn't charge me a dime. I will use him when the time comes to redo my roof and will recommend to everyone I know."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Taos, NM

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
