"I recommend Allshire highly and without reservation. Russ, John, and all their crews were professional and we felt comfortable throughout the process. Our bathroom was fully gutted and rebuilt (with same footprint) - the end result was fantastic and I believe the value was very high. Just to make others aware - we had a fair amount of back and forth with the inspectors from our township and had several hardware items delivered to our house that were broken so they had to be re-ordered - so job took longer than we (and Allshire) expected. That said, the company has many positive attributes: 1) communication is solid 2) attitude is positive and professional 3) final workmanship very high 4) pricing very reasonable 5) overall demeanor is friendly and flexible which is what we wanted. We will call them again when we get ready to remodel our kitchen. Allshire is a good company because it is made of good people."

"5/15 I contacted company through Angi. 5/16 they came to my home for a quote of $2000 , I buy all the paint and we paint the main hallway, laundry room, living room and kitchen( open concept home) and stairs down to basement, trim and doors. No contact signed. Scheduled a date for May 22nd 9 am. They didn t show up. Austin( owner stated) he called the wrong client and needs to reschedule. I gave him the benefit of the doubt. Rescheduled for May 27th at 9 am. He texted it would be 9:45 then again more like 10 am. He came at 10:30 am. They were finishing another job! He slowly started. From 11:30 till 3 or so when he picked up his worker, he only painted one partial wall. He left to pick up his worker, gone for another hour! Came back- worker got to painting! Austin disappeared again- his daughter needed her baseball bat. My husband was not happy and called him. Because I did say earlier in the day I am up til 11 pm. Unfortunately, my husband did not want them here that late. On May 27th- from 10:30 till 6:30 pm. They got 1/3rd of a room done! My husband made a deal with him that he would need to be here on Wednesday, May 28th at 10 am and finish the job. I tried to call Austin on May 27th at approx 7:40 pm to say this isn t working out and I want most of my money back. Austin became aggressive saying he turned down a 10,000 job for this job and made the deal with my husband Rick. Austin and his worker showed up at 10:05 am. I was not that talkative with Austin. I was not comfortable of him being there. I lost confidence in his ability. They finished our bedroom!! That said, they put Satin paint and eggshell paint on our ceiling and one walll! Austin was on the phone conducting business while painting!! Then Austin started painting in a small hallway that I already painted weeks ago! I have to fix that, I have to fix the bedroom ceiling and wall. Then because of the stress. His worker was busting to work hard, paint gallon was dropped down the stairs and spilled on the basement cement! They were at my house til 11:30 last night! Painting walls and ceilings not done, hallway not done, trim not done, I told them to forget the doors and hallway because honestly I wanted them gone. I confronted Austin and told him I was not happy and I gave him all the money up front! He over promised and under delivered. He was just very slow painting. I told him I didn t want him back at my home to fix everything! I was very disappointed and did not feel comfortable with him in my home any longer. I sent him a text today for some money back and he responded aggressively and unprofessional. He can be combative and aggressive. I can provide a copy of the text and pictures. I will not have his worker( Ian) come back tomorrow to do trim and finish the work. I do not want this to happen to anyone else. I have lost sleep and stressed out completely. Not to mention loss of money."

In the field of home renovation and construction, the most important thing is the experience you gain over the years. You acquire skills, keep up with new technologies, and learn to make quick decisions in various situations. Experience helps minimize mistakes, save time and money, and ensure a high level of quality in the work performed. It also allows you to find a common solution with the client to achieve a great final result.
"M 1 remodeling is the company that has been working in our basement and did amazing job, move one wall and door, add one more bedroom, installed a wood floor and painted the walls and ceiling. Also, put a big mirror in my gym room! Thank you so much for your professionalism! Highly appreciated and recommend you to all my friends and family !"

"From initial visit to completion of the job, we have nothing but praise for Clennel and his workers. They were professional, courteous and most important knowledgeable. The estimate was thorough and detailed. The crew was always on time and worked hard all day. They did an excellent job of protecting our carpeting, windows, doorways, etc. and cleaning up after they were done. The work came within budget. We were more than satisfied and totally happy with the quality of the completed work. I would definitely hire them again and would highly recommend this company."

"The good and the bad. Small jobs may be ok but a large job seems to be to much to handle. For the good They showed up on time The price was good They were polite Now for the bad The gentleman does not speak good English so communicating is difficult. They didn’t put any floor protection down i.e. paper so the floor was a complete mess. Drywall mud all over and also spray paint on tile. When installing the drywall there were a bunch of huge gaps, which exceeded a half inch. Drywall gaps should not exceed more than a quarter inch. When hired I told them, I wanted the drywall to be as smooth as my other walls however, there were a bunch of imperfections. When I seen, they started painting with a $50 per gallon paint that I purchased that was a paint and primer in one , I immediately stopped them because you could see the imperfections so I said you have to do the primer first. As with any Drywall job if they are not 100% percent perfect they need to place primer to see all the imperfections and make the repairs otherwise when you put a semi gloss paint on all the imperfections will pop out. After speaking with the wife, I was told to Mark any spots that needed fixing which I did before they came out another day. When he shown up, he appeared to be irritated. He said he is done and doesn’t want additional payment. I paid them 2000 versus the 3000 however, the following was not completed. Painting on the new Drywall Touching up the flaws on the Drywall Doing the tile work on the fireplace Painting the stairwell I would not recommend them for a large Drywall job unless you are looking to have only drywall hung without having the finishing / mudding performed."

Professional installation in an average-sized room (approximately 150 square feet) typically requires one to two full workdays. Larger spaces or projects involving texture removal may extend to three or four days. Additional time may be needed for painting or staining if not included in the initial installation. Weather conditions can affect drying times for adhesives and finishes, potentially extending the overall project timeline.
Beadboard features narrow vertical planks with rounded ridges ("beads") running between grooves, creating a traditional, detailed appearance. Shiplap consists of wider horizontal boards with overlapping edges that create distinctive shadow lines between panels. Beadboard offers a more formal, classic aesthetic often associated with cottage or Victorian styles, while shiplap provides a more contemporary or rustic look popular in farmhouse and coastal designs.
Beadboard can work well in humid environments when appropriate materials are selected. Vinyl or PVC beadboard offers superior moisture resistance for bathrooms, laundry rooms, and other high-humidity spaces. Traditional wood beadboard requires thorough sealing with moisture-resistant paint or clear finishes to prevent warping or mold growth. MDF beadboard generally performs poorly in damp locations and should be avoided in these applications.
Beadboard can be installed directly over popcorn ceilings provided the existing texture is firmly attached and the ceiling structure is sound. However, testing for asbestos is essential for popcorn ceilings installed before the 1980s. Professional texture removal costs $1.30 to $2.50 per square foot, while asbestos remediation runs significantly higher at $3 to $7 per square foot. Direct installation over popcorn texture may affect the final appearance and requires careful planning for fixture integration.
Regular maintenance involves gentle dusting with a soft brush attachment on your vacuum or a microfiber duster to prevent dirt accumulation in grooves. For deeper cleaning, lightly dampen a soft cloth with a mild cleaning solution appropriate for your beadboard material. Avoid excessive moisture, particularly with wood or MDF installations. Painted beadboard may require occasional touch-ups or repainting every 5-7 years, while stained wood might need resealing periodically to maintain its protective finish.
