"I am very pleased and even amazed at the transformation of my back yard. First, I must compliment Jesse, the landscape architect who designed my project. I had very specific "wants and needs" which he incorporated perfectly. The renderings and plans were excellent. The job supervisor, Leo, was very impressive. Even though he was overseeing quite a few other jobs, he never forgot any details or tweeks I wanted in my project. He was always very responsive. It took approximately 3 months to complete my project. I'm sure it would have taken other companies much longer as I saw happening when my neighbors had landscape work done at their homes. Many days there were 5-7 men on my job; they showed up promptly at 7 AM and worked very hard all day. They would also clean up the site at the end of each day. They were very experienced, as evidenced by the great work they did. I am a very particular person, so I closely watched the work being done. Santiago was often on-site and always checked the plans to be sure the job was being built as specified, He also expertly did much of the work himself. My backyard went from having very little useable or functional space to a place where I can easily entertain 50 or more people. When the job was done they did the final TLC, as Leo calls it, and they even washed my lower story windows and patio doors that were bordering the construction site. Final compliments to Jessica the office admin person and Richard the owner of the company. Unfortunately the photos were taken on a cloudy day and don't do the project justice."

"Started off well by actually calling to say would be late at first (see the property to bid) apmt.  I appreciated the timely heads up. Communicates well.  We came to agreement of $790 for the job entailing 3 men to work about 8 hours,
and scheduled the work to be done a couple of weeks later.  I was pleased to receive an official quote by email, with explicit terms.  Replied with clarification.  Oscar replied, yes he had forgotten that.  Also his understanding had been that the above ground pool would be discarded, but actually the previous residents wanted to have it.  Oscar said it would be more work to dismantle it for reuse rather than just tear it down, and suggested that I ask the pool owners to pay the $60 more it would cost.  It was agreed.  I signed and email-returned the contract. Oscar emailed to remind me they would arrive in the morning at 7 am. They arrived about 7:15 and worked hard and wisely! (Extremely hot and humid day!)  Oscar said the pool owner came by and decided to discard the pool after all.  The job was finished in under 8 hours.  Well done!
I discussed with Oscar the possibility of his team doing our regular gardening on a weekly basis.  We came to agreement.  
We are also looking forward to planning the redesigning of the landscaping.
I was surprised to be asked for a check at the completion of the job, since my recollection of the contract terms had specified that an invoice would be sent, to be paid by mail (or credit card if arranged in advance).  In fact, I just now received the emailed invoice (with a balance due of $0).  No problem though, just surprised.

"Over all the job was good.  I did not think the pavers were properly cleaned before sealing was done.  There were several spots of gray residue and one rust stain that we do not know how they got on the patio, but were not removed before the seal was sprayed. I do not think they were there prior to the pavers being washed. No supervisor came to the sight after the initial bid, until time to collect payment, which was too late to have the spots removed.

"They initially re-plumbed our entire house years ago so we are still under a service contract with them. They do excellent work. We have had no problems with them. They were very professional. There were only about two of them here at a time and they come do whatever they have to do and then, the construction crew came in after them and did what they had to do. We are very pleased with them. A lot of companies would not work with construction crews that way, but they do."

"Received several proposals based on a landscape design already prepared. Ali was very knowledgeable about details and was able to revise his proposal on the fly while meeting with us to fit within our budget, while still achieving our aesthetic goals. Work started promptly, and generally proceeded uninterrupted, with only one or two exceptions. As a rule, there was some work done every day, and occasionally a large team showed up to complete a phase of the project before the weekend. All of RES's workers and project manager were very courteous and professional. Some changes were made at our request along the way with reasonable change in cost. Also, some undesirable variations from the plan occurred, but these were promptly corrected upon request. A more formal change order process may have avoided these deviations, but the final product was of excellent, showing obvious pride in work quality, and Ali had many helpful suggestions along the way. "To start, Steve Letwinch showed up on-time and has a very professional demeanor.  He has an extensive and impressive building background. 
One thing I really liked about Steve was his willingness to work with me before we ever even entered into contract.  I continued to refine precisely what we wanted in the back yard, to discuss numerous options with him, and in the process had a lot of questions--each time Steve willingly and very patiently priced the cost differences and answered my questions in-detail.   And his responses were extremely timely; I didn't have to wait days for him to get back to me.  This was how it went through the entire construction process--any question that I had throughout construction was usually answered within a couple of hours, and on very rare occasions within no more than twenty-four hours.  Steve has excellent and very timely follow-up skills.
Steve's proposal was detailed and specific, which was a breath of fresh air as surprises can arise if you don't nail down every detail at the time of contract.  His pricing was very competitive as well. 
If you, the reader, are new to construction or remodeling, it's good to know that there are always bumps in the road along the way.  The question is how does a contractor respond--does he repair it or does he let it go and expect you to accept it?  I noted a couple of things, Steve himself noted a couple of things, and he fixed everything to our satisfaction.  The end result?  Beautiful!
For the pricing quoted above, please keep in mind that our patio cover is 14 x 33, has 8 x 8 posts, 4 x 8 rafters, 2 x 4's on the top, and knee braces.  And the rebuilt deck now matches.  So these are very "beefy" and rich looking--not your typical patio cover by any stretch.  The two retaining walls are also each 35 feet long, so roughly 70 lineal feet of retaining walls.  And the fireplace is a full masonry, wood-burning fireplace with a damper--nine feet wide by seven feet tall, so these were all extensive to build.
We're very, very happy with the final result in the back yard.  Steve brought in good subs--the concrete turned out beautifully, the fireplacewas built by a mason who has built masonry fireplaces for many years (why get a pre-fab fireplace when, with Steve's very competitive pricing, you can spend just a few dollars more and get a gorgeous masonry fireplace!), the stucco work is perfect, and the patio cover has made our back yard an oasis.  We've had several friends comment on how lovely everything turned out, and we absolutely agree.
