"Jeff was terrific! Really thoughtful about the project. He was prompt, no nonsense, hard working, very skilled, reasonably priced, and wonderful to work with. He listened carefully to what I wanted, made good suggestions and gave me exactly what I needed on time in budget no drama. No that’s a great contractor experience!. Absolutely recommend for any concrete project."

"My Patio concrete slab had cracked in the 1995 earthquake and had gradually settled over the years. We wanted to tile the area but with the uneven slab (ranging from +1/4" to +7/8") we needed to get the slab leveled and stabilized. This was the first time that I had contemplated using a foam injection method for stabilization and leveling. Slabjack Geothechnical (Andrew) was professional, technically competent (I am an engineer) and exuded confidence (they have an impressive video display of a variety of successful projects) and most importantly - they have excellent reviews! Jamie came out and got the entire area (with it's multiple cracks) leveled! Kudos too to the owner Jerry, and Manager Ann, who were courteous, patient, and did not hustle me into making a hurried decision. Thank you to all of them."

"I called Archetype and he came out that afternoon to assess the damaged wall. He was expert at identifying the correct matching rock, and returned promptly at the scheduled time with all the materials to complete the repair. I had previously paid a general contractor twice the money to repair this wall the previous year, only to have the rock fall off again within a couple months. This time, i decided to call a masonry expert, Archetype Masonry. He was able to identify the problem, match the rock exactly, obtain the new materials, and very efficiently and expertly repair the rock wall so it looks like new. I am thrilled with his work and would definitely recommend him. <br />"

"Landon mud jacked several sections to re-level the patio. Landon and Pat then resealed all the joints and cracks. They finished with a top coating, resealing the entire patio. They breathed new life into a 23 year old patio at a fraction of the cost to have it replaced. It turned out better than I had hoped. You cannot even see the holes Landon had to drill to do the mud jacking. Very pleasant hard working young men."

"Ty and his crew showed up exactly on time (even a little early!) and were completely ready to go when the first concrete truck arrived. They gave us excellent advice on prepping the area and helped us get a few last minute details completed. They were professional, fun to work with, and really did an exceptional job. The basement floor guys and the concrete delivery guys all expressed their satisfaction with Ty's team work and professionalism. This crew has an obviously strong work ethic as well as a real goal of customer satisfaction. We couldn't have asked for a better job. We rate them five stars! <br />"

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Tensed, ID

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
