"I?m honestly blown away by the craftsmanship I experienced. As a trained professional, I would expect better attention to detail, but it was clear that wasn?t a priority here. While some issues were eventually addressed, new problems kept popping up after every visit. After three separate trips to my home following the initial installation, I?ve lost all faith that this company can get it right. Despite the owner?s efforts to work with me, the repeated poor workmanship and aggravation just aren?t worth it anymore. Unfortunately, it seems like I got the ?B squad? of installers and painters. Given the number of positive reviews this company has, I was truly shocked by my experience. At this point, I?ll be cutting my losses and using a different company in the future. I got almost all of the windows and front door replaced in my home. Door was good but every window/frame that was installed has issues."

"Did a good job but they had to come back four times. Wasn't happy with the finish which was the fourth time. They still hadn't come back. Had an disagreement with the owner. Salesman was excellent. Took a long time to get it in. No communication until the end"

FAQs for doors (exterior) installation and replacement projects in Thiensville, WI

Modern steel doors incorporate protective coatings and finishes that significantly reduce rust potential. These treatments create effective moisture barriers when properly maintained. Small scratches or damage should be promptly addressed with touch-up paint to prevent moisture from reaching the underlying metal.

Doors in coastal or high-humidity environments benefit from additional protective measures and more frequent inspection. With proper care, most steel doors resist corrosion for decades.

Steel doors provide superior resistance against forced entry attempts compared to fiberglass alternatives. The inherent strength of steel creates a formidable barrier that resists impacts and tampering more effectively than composite materials.

While high-quality fiberglass doors offer reasonable security, steel provides an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio and structural integrity. For maximum protection, look for steel doors with reinforced strike plates and multi-point locking systems.

Most manufacturers provide warranties covering manufacturing defects for periods ranging from five to 15 years, depending on the product line and quality tier. Hardware components often carry separate warranty coverage, often for shorter durations. Installation services may include workmanship guarantees covering proper fitting and operation. Always review warranty documentation carefully to understand coverage limitations and maintenance requirements that might affect warranty validity.

Provided your existing wood frame remains structurally sound and properly aligned, professional installers can often adapt a steel door to fit. The process requires careful measurement and potentially minor modifications to accommodate the new door's specifications. The frame must provide adequate support for the heavier steel door construction. A qualified installer will evaluate your current frame's condition and recommend appropriate adjustments to ensure proper function and security.
