"There are always surprises when making home repairs. My window had to be adapted to accommodate the AC size and we had to find the circuit for the proper outlet Dick had the supplies he needed to get the job done and made additional adjustments so that I can take out the unit in the winter. The cut-to-order shades were a little narrow and he knew how to adjust the brackets so that they would work. One would think that replacing light bulbs would be at anyone's level of expertise but Dick reminded me that it is best to replace all of the light bulbs so that I don't have to do it again when an older bulb burns out. I would not have thought of that. The remote thermometer needed to be integrated with the inside one and Dick knew just how to do that. The table lamp is old and I didn't know if it could be repaired. I like its construction and was disappointed when it fell apart. Dick knew just how to fix it. I have called on Dick's Fix It for 4 years--both on my current house and the previous one. His problem-solving skills and expertise always amaze me and I know that I can rely on him to resolve anything that he encounters. "James is responsible, and on time. He showed up at the agreed upon time, and helped me with various issues I had, such as using an electric planer to shave down my doors so they would fit. He also installed a closet rod, and did other miscellaneous things for me, like install door handles, and curtain rod brackets. But, the best thing was that he created a beautiful custom fireplace mantel by hand! James is a creative guy, and has an eye for what looks good. The fireplace mantel looks wonderful and fits my place so well!! He was on time the times I had him at my place, which is really important to me. He also answered my text messages whenever I had a question. He is nice to talk to, and will give advice if you ask him for it. It was a pleasure working with James."

"<p>This was the second project we hired LaBonte for.  Once again we were not disappointed.</p> <p>While work was being done, a temporary shower was set up in our basement, which worked out great.  Not having to leave the house to shower with 2 kids was a huge bonus.</p> <p>Dave was great to work with from start to finish.  From the beginning stages of helping with the design, to installing the last shelf on the wall himself, he was always a pleasure to work with.  No matter where I went - the tile shop, the wood/cabinetry shop, etc. - or whatever worker came into the house - everyone had great things to say about Dave, assuring us we hired the right person/company for the job.</p> <p>The work that was done is great quality.  Our new bathroom is floor to ceiling tile with a custom vanity, shelving and a built-in cabinet to replace the existing closet space.  If there were any concerns or questions during the process, they were always addressed quickly without a problem.  Time frame for the project was a little over, but for unforeseen circumstances.  Time frame really didn't concern us when the quality is good, the people we hired are nice and the end result is what we wanted.</p> <p>We continue to give LaBonte our highest rating and are nothing but thankful!  We are now talking about our 3rd project! </p>"
