"We had granite countertop put on our existing bathroom vanity and had a custom cabinet added on top of the vanity also the ceramic floor tile was replaced with wood look ceramic tile (LOVE IT), old plastic shower torn out and redesigned and tiled, old bathtub out and replaced with a new one with a tile surround. The contractor that he hired to do the rip out and replace was very good nice and professional. Heath knew just what kind of granite I wanted and did a great job , the granite is beautiful and the person he got to build the cabinet did a beautiful job, the cabinet was very well built., I must say that the cabinet is my favorite part of the bathroom next to the wood look ceramic floor.I love my new bathroom......Oh I must tell you that our old shower was replaced with a "cave" shower which means no more glass doors to keep clean and I love it."

"-He decided to arrive and do the work at the same time, and tried to uncharge me for remodeling work to remove a bathtub and a water heater. In the process of removing old tub we discovered the sub-flooring had water damage and needed repaired; he initially quoted me an outrageous price to repair the entire bathroom sub-flooring when it was only a 3' x 4' area. -He showed up two hours late with his workers and In the end they did not completely repair the damaged area."

"Pam and Rick Chavous are a great team! Pam designed our kitchen and Rick, Charles, and Isaiah executed the plan with old school craftsmanship. Every aspect of this project was done well. Shellie, office secretary, kept us informed of what they were doing and when they would get back to us.  We were never disappointed. The completely new kitchen island was well-designed by Pam and is the centerpiece of our kitchen. They worked very closely with our granite people, the Moon family and our electrician, Donald Cockerham.  A major design challenge was insuring that enough space was made for larger appliances. This was well done by Charles. The space created by Charles for the double oven was a work of art.  The the drawer Charles made for under the new cooktop was his idea and well executed...real  handy for the cook. We are very pleased with the results of everyone's efforts. Pam also designed a table for a piece of marble that has been in a our family for many years. It  also has a neat drawer made by Charles. Thank you, Pam, Rick, Charles, Isaiah, and Shellie for a job well done and very much appreciated bY us!!!! <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br>"

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in Thomson, GA

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
