"Peters is very professional- we've used them twice now. My feedback would be to provide an estimate. Both experiences, the plumbers tell us they can't give us a detailed quote, and then we get a bill in the mail weeks later. That makes me feel very uncomfortable."

"Had Matt run new wire for a big addition and hook everything up. He was easy to work with, communicative, and fast. Very talented for a young guy. I was nervous about some potential complications but once we turned everything on, zero issues"

"Five years after moving into our house we were finally ready to update our house's full bathroom. The bathroom design and fixtures were (from what we believe to be) last updated from the early 90s. A pedestal sink and clawfoot tub (converted to a shower) were a couple of the features that just did not fit our needs. The bathroom's footprint is quite small (just 6ft x 7.75ft) and afforded no built-in storage. So for a remodel we knew what was on our need-to-have list. Our goal was to convert the tub to a real shower and replace the pedestal sink with a cabinet that would give us more storage and maximize the available space. We had received quotes from remodelers that led us to believe that we would have to go down the route of having to do a custom build/remodel. The fixtures and custom finishes of these proposals were very nice but the price (in our mind) for such a small space were out of our budget. We were also told a remodel could take a month to complete. Being without our only full bathroom for that long just didn't seem realistic. So after searching online for other options we came across Simple Bath. Shawn Barral, our design consultant, showed that we could achieve our goal without going down the expensive & lengthy custom build/remodel route. The design, fixtures, & components they proposed allowed for cost and installation-time savings. These advantages ultimately fit our goal. Going through the process from preliminary design, fixture & finish selection, measurement, demolition, and installation all went very smooth. Our installers, Justin & Hunter, were tasked with (in my opinion) unenviable job of demolition which included removal of a very heavy cast-iron tub and very dusty & dirty work associated with plaster & lathe walls. They also persevered through the challenges of working with an old home which included unleveled floors and out of plumb walls in addition to a very tight workspace. At the end of each work day the worksite was clean and tidy, which was something that is often overlooked during a remodel. By the end of the work week, the installation finished right on time with incredible results. It was an incredible transformation that happened so quickly and so smoothly. Our new bathroom is so much more presentable and vastly more usable."

"Last week, I had Stay Dry come out because I had water draining into my basement. A man came out and told me I needed to replace my drainage pipelines outside for almost $3000.00. My son was here and told me to get a second opinion. That's when I called Rogers Basement. I spoke with a gentleman named Paul who asked me how they knew my pipelines were the problem. I told them Stay Dry just said they were. He told me there is no way without using a camera or something to look below to see if that was the problem. He recommended Drain Busters. He said they were honest and professional. Drain Busters came out and used the camera and found my pipelines to have nothing wrong with them. He said there were some leaves possible blocking the flow and removed them. He tightened two of my downspouts to make sure they were working correctly. He said your pipelines are fine and do not need replaced. I called Paul to thank him for being so honest and guiding me to another honest company to help me. I am so grateful I called Rogers Basement and talked to Paul. It was nice working with him. If I ever need basement work, I will definitely be calling Rogers Basement and hopefully get to talk to Paul!"

"My enclosed gas fireplace had not been used in well over 2 years. I wasn't sure if it was in working order if it needed to be replaced. The tech called and arrived early (worked great for me), quickly assessed the situation, cleaned the unit and lit it. He also took the time to help me understand the functioning of the unit. THAN YOU!"

"W & W Plumbing completely saved me. To make a very long story short, we were trying to fix a plumbing problem ourselves (on a Friday at 6pm) and hit a water line. I called everywhere, and the prices were absolutely insane just to fix the pipe damage we caused (not even addressing the problem we were trying to fix). And then, A few of my neighbors recommended W & W and Joe Woosley (owner) came out to my house within 30 minutes of my phone call. What I thought would be just him coming to fix what we broke - he ended up repairing that in minutes and then asking what we were trying to fix (roots). He put a camera down and we found multiple problems. I thought he would simply give me a quote and continue to the rest of his day but he started to fix my problems on the spot. He was there all day and made me a priority to help me as best as he could. When all was said and done, he even addressed some other indoor plumbing issues I had after a long, hard day of work he had done. He did everything I needed in 1 day and for a fraction of the cost. You don't see too many genuine business owners who are honest with you from the start. I could not have been more pleased. I am a customer forever with W & W and will continue to recommend him to everyone I know! Thank you so much Joe, I am so lucky to have found you!"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Thornville, OH

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
