"Quality Roofing is amazing! Matt Terry worked with our insurance and went above and beyond getting our roof on before Christmas. The workers were great, did a great job and cleaned up everything afterwards. I cannot say enough good things about this company and Matt. Thank you QR. We are telling everyone about you. The Potts"

"To begin with, I contacted 4 different roofing companies (all highly rated on Angie's List). One of these used a satellite system for estimating the roof area (measured in and quot;squaresand quot;, 1 square = 100 sq ft.) Three of the four area estimates - including the one that used the satellite system - quoted roof areas that were much higher than the fourth. So I took the satellite image - which had linear dimensions on it, and added a factor for the roof pitch (basic trigonometry) and what I found was that the fourth estimate, which happened to come from Bruce Bethke, was nearly right-on. <br /> I have no idea what was up with the other three roofers' estimates (bad at math?), but they all enjoy great reputations on Angie's List... <br /> Bruce suggested that I think about a metal roof and offered me a and quot;screw-downand quot; option (where the fastening screws pass through the metal surface before anchoring in the plywood decking below) and a and quot;standing seamand quot; option (where the metal roof panels are clipped into hidden fasteners leaving the metal surface undisturbed.) NOTE: This second type of roof is referred to as and quot;standing seamand quot;, but it consists of panels with pre-fabricated seams that lock together as opposed to a and quot;trueand quot; standing seam roof which is installed with a power crimper that creates the seams onsite by bending the flat panels together. The original and quot;standing seamand quot; roof is significantly more expensive. While there may be a marginal benefit to the power-crimped roof, the pre-fabricated panels have a good track record. <br /> The more I learned about modern metal roofs, the more I wanted to go that route. They have 2 major benefits: (1) energy efficiency, and (2) durability. <br /> The metal roof (including colored metal roofs) are much more reflective of the sun's radiant energy, so they don't get as hot as asphalt roofs of any color. Furthermore, a metal roof has barely any heat capacity at all; when the sun goes down it has no stored heat to give off, whereas an asphalt roof heats to well over a hundred degrees fahrenheit, and cools down slowly - in the process radiating heat off to the atmosphere - and into the house! Since replacing my roof I have noted that the heat pump barely ever runs between 7 or 8 pm and 10 or 11 am, whereas with the asphalt roof the heat pump ran long and often throughout the entire night and morning. Because the metal roof saves so much energy it has earned an energy tax credit for the year it gets installed. <br /> The roof is also more durable - so much so that it meets a U.L. standard for resistance to wind and hail damage - which earns a discounted rate for homeowner's insurance in the state of Texas. <br /> Lastly, the roof looks great. Neighbors actually comment on it, and several have said they'd like to and quot;go metaland quot; when the time comes to replace their asphalt roofs. <br /> Once I decided to go with a metal roof, I ran the two options by a home inspector who urged me to go with the standing seam rather than the screw-down option. He said that even though it costs more initially, the additional cost is more than made up by the fact that the standing seam roof does not require screws to be inspected and replaced periodically. And the possibility of leaks is drastically reduced because there should be very few if any penetrations through the metal surface of a standing seam roof when installed properly. <br /> Back to Bethke Roofing. Bruce Bethke earned my trust with his straightforward estimate, his suggesting the metal roof, and giving me the full facts up front. He's a pretty easy-going guy besides, and I found dealing with Bruce - and his crew to be a very good experience. During the job Bruce suggested replacing the stack roof vent with louver vents on the sheer face of the adjoining wall (parts of the roof are single-slope adjoining a sheer wall face). That was done at a minimal additional cost. His suggestion improved the aesthetics of the roof, eliminated a potential water leak, and improved the attic ventilation. He even gave me some advice on a non-roof drainage issue I had - and his suggestion has proven completely effective, and much easier to accomplish than what I had originally planned. <br /> I heartily recommend Bethke roofing to anyone who needs a roof!"

"Serviceman was right on time. Before cleaning the inside of my fireplace, as well as the gas logs, he laid a blanket down so no dust could get on my floor or furnishings. He noticed that the logs were set a little too close to the front, then adjusted the log rack so the gas could flow better through the logs. He also noted that the gas pipe was at the correct length to the logs. Next, he went outside and did an inspection of the chimney by getting on the roof. Except for a slight crack in the caulking around the cap there were no problems. The caulking was not something that required repair at this time. This serviceman was very professional in doing his job, in cleaning up after his inspection, and in the information he gave. I will call this company again."

"<p>Ground Zero did a top-notch job from start to finish! It is rare these days to be inspired to write a positive review, so let me dive in with the details:<br /> 1. Sales - I visited their showroom in South OKC. Alicia was very friendly and knowledgeable about the shelters. I'm an engineer by trade and had many geeky engineering questions; Alicia was able to answer every question I had about the construction and design. She walked me through how the entire process is handled, and even described OKC's building permit process.  Was so impressed that I made the purchase on-the-spot.  The price I indicated ($2300) was a sales price for the "smaller" shelter, so your price may vary.  <br /> 2. Permits/Pre-Install:  Ground Zero provided pre-filled forms for the building permit. If you live in OKC you can go online and apply, then fax the forms. They (the City) will call you back for your CC number and give you the permit number (which you provide back to Ground Zero.   Ground Zero people followed up with me four days before install to ensure that everything was on-track.<br /> 3.  Installation:  Here is where Ground Zero hit it out of the park. I have to admit I was nervous about the install, as I've had more than a few installations that were total nightmares. My installers - Raul (Installer) and Xavier (Helper) were on time, ready to start immediately, and were very polite and professional.  Since I had a Pre-Tensioned Slab we had to call Suncoast to cut /re-anchor the cables latticed underneath the slab, this caused Raul and Xavier some minor delay and re-marking, but both of them worked seamlessly with Suncoast with the modifications and everything quickly was back on track.  Raul quickly had the slab cut and dirt removed within 1.5 hours, he was able to finesse the mini-excavator like a pro, probably could use it to pick up toothpicks if he wanted. Xavier was constantly moving and took care of the 1000 other smaller tasks, Raul and Xavier worked together like clockwork and rarely needed to talk.   When they were done they cleaned EVERYTHING, not a spot of mud anywhere inside or on the driveway, Raul used the pressure washer for a good 30 minutes just on the driveway.  While Raul hauled the dirt away, Xavier finished the troweling on the cement backfill leaving it with a nice raised feathering that looks very professional.   NEVER in four hours on site did I see either gentleman take a break to loaf, they were constantly moving and working non-stop. <br /> I'm very pleased with the professionalism of the Ground Zero Team from Start to Finish, and pleased with the final product.   No, I'm not a "shill" nor do I work for Ground Zero. I am just one consumer that is tired of writing bad reviews for bad service, and pleased for once to be able to write an outstanding Review!</p> <br />"

"We had Mr. Waters replace our roof several years ago and he and his crew did a wonderful job. We have an arbor attached to the roof and there were some signs of leaking into the outside soffit. I called and Donnie sent a man out the next day to look at it and repair the caulking. He would not take any money but said it was part of their warranty. It's a great service provider who will stand behind their work. <br /> Linda C. <br />   <br />"

"Permian Basin Exteriors is an excellent company to do business with. Their knowledge helps the customer to make wise decisions and they are very personable. Permian Basin Exteriors uses their time wisely and gets on the job quickly and is just as quick to finish a job, large or small. Their prices were reasonable and they did everything that was asked of them and more. I wish everyone that ran a business was as easy to deal with as Permian Basin Exteriors and Isaac Redecop and his son. They put a metal roof on for us and will return later to install new windows. They started promptly, did the job, cleaned up and were gone. Thanks to Permian Basin Exteriors."

"Great experience with a very professional crew. The work of fixing my front sidewalk and driveway was completed quickly, on time, and looks great now! Thanks to Jackie and Ryan, who did the repair work. They were friendly, efficient, and quickly completed all the work needing to be done. They answered all my questions. I would go to Baird Foundation Repair without hesitation for any future foundation or concrete work, if the need develops. I'll be recommending Baird to all of my neighbors and friends. Oh, and the cost of the work being done actually came in a little under what I was expecting, which was a very nice surprise!"

"We purchased the house 2 years ago knowing we would need to replace the roof very soon. Got estimates from 3 different roofing companies and his estimate was only $200-$300 more than the others, but his warranty on the workmanship was 10 years - double what the other two companies were offering. Well worth the extra couple hundred when looking at such a major expense. We also went with top of the line shingles, making the cost just a little higher. <br /> Besides the old shingles being worn and needing replacement, we had some decking that needed to be replaced where a fallen tree limb caused damage (prior to buying the house - so had been leaking off and on for couple of years), as well as some rotting fascia boards at the peak on one side of the house. We wanted the fascia boards on both sides replaced at same time and he offered to do it for labor/materials only, including painting the boards so we wouldn't have to. <br /> Shane and his crew were awesome!!  They arrived very early in the morning to get started on the roof and were able to finish it all in one day. It's a fairly large roof and he wasn't sure they would be able to finish without needing part of the next day, but they hustled all day long and were able to finish before dark.   <br /> We were very impressed with Shane and how he runs his business. He takes pride in the workmanship and is very up front and honest about what needs to be done and what the cost will be. He also answers his phone when you call and is happy to answer any questions you have. All in all, our experience with this company was top notch. <br /> Almost a year later, we had a leak after some hard rain with high winds and we called Shane back out to see what was going on. We were thinking maybe a shingle had gotten damaged from the high winds or something. But after checking the attic and shingles on the roof, he determined that the shingles were good and that it was coming from the chiminy. There were a couple of places where the mortor had worn away and left a few holes where blowing rain was able to get in and trickle down joists in the attic to the point where the leak occurred.  He said he'd seen this before and knew how to fix it, so we hired him to do the job rather than spend time getting second opinions. We trusted that Shane knew what he was talking about and though we haven't had another hard, blowing rain since, we're very confident that the problem was addressed and we won't see any more leaks. <br /> We would highly recommend A-Ability Roofing and Shane to anyone needing their services. <br />"

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Three Rivers, TX

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
