"Richard came out to our house less than 30 minutes after I called for help. He was professional, quick, knowledgeable and friendly. He even installed our new garbage disposal in the kitchen while he was here. I can not thank him enough for rescuing us."

"Brian was here on a yearly maintenance check up. He was efficient, courteous, explained everything he had checked and recommended only one small item to consider but wasn’t an emergency issue. I have a lot of confidence in Brian’s work, hope he is the tech that always comes for service "

"He is a great plumber. I have used him since my next door neighbor recommened him. I have lived here since 1998. I  first used Crowley's Plumbing. Their work is not good and they charge a ridiculously high amount of money just to come out. <br /> I changed to Nick after my next door neighbor told me about him. He is great. He never charges me more than $45 for a generally small repair job to my bathroom sink, toilet or kitchen plumbing.  <br /> He is the best. I will neverr use anyone else. <br /> I am 72 years old and disabled. Maybe he knows that and that is why he charges me less. <br /> He also has a great personality.  <br /> News update: <br /> Nick is leaving Hartsville for Charleston. His wife was transferred on her job there and he got a new job at The College of Charleston. What a loss for me and this city! <br /> I saw him last night in a restaurant as he was in town trying to sell his house. He gave me the names of two other plumbers I could try with him being gone. <br /> I <br />"

"Best contractor I’ve ever used. Very fair pricing for the outstanding and fast work they did. Very knowledgeable and went out of his way to explain things to me. The work he did was first class. Wish I would have found him sooner, would have saved me money and provided better work than previous plumbing company. Derek will always be my first call on any work I need done."

"I was really impressed with Mr. Graham's professionalism. He contacted me and emailed pictures of prior jobs. He handled everything through emails, because there was 1 hour travel time. I didn't hire Mr. Graham because my daughter hired someone else in our area. I definitely would consider him for anything else I needed repaired. Thanks Mr. Graham"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Timmonsville, SC

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
