"DO NOT HIRE! Real Deal Remodeling was hired to install a dishwasher where we had not previously had one. Countertops were to be installed as well as a new sink and hood vent fan. Lance presented nice and kind, everything was laid out well and we hired him to do the job. Lance and crew often came late with multiple excuses or not show at all. He also would disappear for a week at a time between coming which drug our project out super long. As a result we went without a kitchen for a while. I requested to be present when he left on the last day (my husband was home while they worked) and Lance refused to do so because he knew he had not done his best work. I let it go until a few days later we realized water was coming from under the floor boards in our hall and living room. We realized it was the dishwasher and called Lance immediately. He came over and confirmed, blamed it on a bad dishwasher line. Wouldn’t this have been caught when you tested the lines after hook up? He took weeks to get the parts and again gave excuses for why it took so long for him to come out. The water had ruined our flooring so we had to discuss that. He wanted to CHARGE us to repair the floor his work ruined. We had to replace our entire living room, hallway and first bedroom. I was kind enough to agree to we would purchase flooring and materials and he would install. He made us rip up all the flooring, we did. He came out and complained and cursed to himself the entire time, we could tell he didn’t want to right his wrong. We immediately noticed the floor installation was sloppy, I told him and he argued I was being too picky and it would be fine. It was not!! Multiple people agreed. He ruined some of my materials while installing and left them that way. We had to pay for someone to come out and redo our floors after he was done. He did not use the original holes to reconnect the dishwasher. He made new ones which are so jagged it looks like he took a hammer and slammed a hole into the cabinets. He also made them near the front so now lines run through our cabinet making the bottom shelves not usable and unappealing visually. He ruined two cabinets with his large and jagged holes. We had to pay someone else to fix that as well and they informed us the lines were still not properly hooked up so it could leak again. This company was nothing but problems. I normally don’t write reviews but I lost thousands hiring him and hundreds more fixing his work."

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) ensures equal access and usability for individuals with disabilities. For example, people in wheelchairs or using walkers should have reasonable physical access to public spaces, like sidewalks, businesses, and government buildings. Accommodations and building modifications to achieve ADA compliance may include entrance ramps, handrails, and wider door openings.
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requires doorways to be at least 32 inches of clearance to provide reasonable wheelchair access. It’s not that the doorway itself needs to be 32 inches wide, as the door hinge and other hardware may reduce the actual clearance by a few inches. In most cases, the door frame needs to be wider than that so that a person has at least 32 inches to pass through when the door is fully open. Most wheelchairs measure 25 to 36 inches in width.
Along with the cost of widening doorways, you may also invest in several other common house alterations and modifications. The average total cost to build a handicap-accessible house ranges from $700 to $8,000, depending on what changes you want to make. Adding grab bars and handrails can cost up to $500 while installing a stair railing costs $900. Installing a stair lift costs $1,500 to $5,000, whereas installing an elevator costs as much as $60,000. Other changes may involve lowering thermostats, remodeling bathrooms, widening hallways, and installing wheelchair ramps.
