"Rapid Roofing did a phenomenal job on our roof. They were quick and professional. The job in its entirety took just 3 days. That included the tear off, removal of the swamp cooler, and the put back . The owner, Gary Peterson, kept us up to date with scheduling and checked in on the project each day. There were no hidden costs or surprises at the end of the project. Gary was upfront with each step of the process. I would recommend Rapid Roofing to anyone needing their roof repaired or replaced."

"Dave Wright is extremely knowledgeable about a wide variety of things in and around the house. We plan to use his services further to complete several projects around the house that have been sitting unfinished and/or in need of repair for eons. There is a waiting list, but that is to be expected when you want the best!"

"It went very well only when it rained it leaked. We notified Aspen roofing and the supervisor came in two days, apologized explained in detail what should have been done and had the repair both on the roof and in the house done as well. We were so pleased with Chris and his crew that we recommend the company to both residential and commercial entities!"

"Great! Phil came out right away to look at the problem, gave us a very reasonable estimate, and performed the work a couple of days later. He repaired all leaks and did a full roof maintenance, sealing all pipes, vents and chimneys, and he worked with my husband to test the seals with a hose, to make sure everything worked. Although we hope not to need to, we would hire Phil back in a heartbeat!"

"I shopped around a bit for some roof repairs, and some other places offered estimates by phone. A top ranked company seemed high to me. I ended up having Bob Harvey (the owner) come over to give me an estimate. He kindly included a military discount (my husband is active duty) which made his price unbeatable! It was a busy time of year with a wet winter coming and he said it would be a few weeks before they could work me in, which was fine for my small job and the great price I was getting. I did need to call and follow up (I seemed to have been overlooked) and then it was snowy for a while and they couldn't come until the roof dried off. The roofer who showed up once we got it scheduled was very polite and I think he did a good job (although I didn't get up there to inspect it!). Everything looked great from the ground. Overall, I'm very happy with Bob Harvey Roofing and would recommend them. I felt they were fair and honest and did a good job (and I loved the military discount)!"

"Wow! Much better than I could have anticipated. Day one the crew came and tore off the existing shingles and prepped the roof for the shingles. There was a lot of work done at this stage and our home was waterproofed had it rained, which I appreciated. Prior to this, a dumpster was placed to the side of our home so as to not block the entrance to our garage. This was really nice of them but it made them have to walk further! Day two the shingles were delivered, and on day three the crew returned and the job was finished in hours. The GAF system that J & N uses is a superior system and it makes my shingling job of 24 years ago on our home pale by comparison. A competitor of J & N's gave me a bid about the same price but only after asking what other bids were. His is the most reviewed company on Angie's list. The bid Norm gave me and the final price would have been the same, but Norm installed ridgevents and removed the roof vents and patched the roof vent holes at my request and also because Norm felt the ridgeventing is better than roof vents. Clean up was very thorough all days. No flat tires or nails found. A couple of neighbors did their shingles at the same time and I have to say in my biased point of view that ours is by far the best looking roof of all. I found it easiest to text Norm to contact him and he was good about returning texts. I would use his company again but I expect this roof to last longer than me at my age of 63! Thanks guys!"

"I called Dave Kemp for a bid on a roof. My bids ranged from $6,400 to over $12,000.00. Dave emailed me the bid with the itemized breakdown. His crew was prompt being at my home at 7am every day. They cleaned up the trash and I was very hppy with the job. In fact, I had a vent on the roof that needed replacing and Dave came out immediately to replace it. The only problem was that there was alot of dirt and nails in my garage from the installation of the new roof. I had to seep that because I didn't want my dogs to be accidentally let out. No fault of their own. I had to wait about a month for Dave to do my roof and now I see why. He has a line of customers because he's a great roofer."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Tooele, UT

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
