When John came over to give us the estimate, he also measured the wall and told us how many boxes of 3"x6" subway tile and how many 12" pencil tiles for the edging that we would need to order to complete this project. Before starting John explained a couple of options that we had available to ensure that the final look would be just as we had envisioned. In addition to installing the backsplash, they did an excellent job removing and replacing a chipped 12"x12" floor tile that was in our mudroom. Prior to leaving, John informed us of the best procedure for applying the sealer once the tile adhesive had dried. Thebwork took 2 days, A few days after it was completed, the musty smell was gone and the cinder blocks were drying. Christian even returned on a Saturday to fix a part of the wall that was still wet. Not a month later, and just as we finished our basement renovation, our neighbors had a water main break, and the water came pouring through the corner of our shared townhouse wall. The basement stayed completely dry despite the sump pump pumping out more than 4600 gallons of water! Our investment has already paid for itself."

"I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service, but it did not go well. He came out and looked at the job, but he clearly wanted to do more than remove wallpaper from the bathroom. It would have cost more than the Big Deal voucher and he could not verify if the wallpaper would remove cleanly or not, which would entail a lot more work. So we ended up not using him because he wanted to re-paint the room and do all the other work in the room, but we just wanted the wallpaper removed. I was not comfortable with him not knowing if the wallpaper would remove cleanly. On the one hand I am glad he mentioned that the walls could be damaged if the wallpaper was removed. On the other hand it seemed like there was a disconnect between what I was purchasing. It was more like he felt the Angie's List certificate was his foot in the door to purchase the entire room as opposed to what we purchased and thought we were getting. We did not want to do the entire room. He came out pretty quickly and was responsive. On one level he was professional and on another his motivations were not very professional."
