"This project went extremely well from start to finish. Mike came out as arranged (on time, COVID precautions taken) and surveyed the garage floor, measured, provided color selection options and explained the process thoroughly. Prior to his arrival he emailed several links to documents which I read before his arrival and thereby could ask intelligent questions. Stronghold's price was in the middle of the three estimates; however, considering this type of work is what they specialize in (as opposed to a few jobs in addition to other types of contracting specialties), coupled with the many outstanding (to include recent) reviews informed my selection. After contract signing and down payment, the two-day project was scheduled for about 4 weeks later. In the interim, Mike sent several emails with added information and reminders, especially to ensure the garage was completely empty. On the scheduled first day, the two-man crew arrived and after unloading their equipment began their work immediately which was the grinding process. When completed, they applied the Base Coat of Epoxy followed by the Decorative Chips. The next morning the crew returned to vacuum the excess chips and then apply the Top Coat of Polyaspartic Polyurea which also provides a degree of anti-slip feature. The "curing period" was a minimum of 24 hours to walk on and 48-72 hours to drive on. I wish I had taken some "before" photos because the results were outstanding. The crew was courteous, professional and cleaned up after their work on both days. Contract signing, payment, etc., was accomplished electronically. Considering the pitfalls of a DIY project (chemicals, lack of commercial grade grinders, specialized "flexible" coatings, etc.,) this is the way to go and well worth the cost. I now actually enjoy going into my garage and have proudly shown it to my neighbors."

"I had my garage floor epoxy coated and overall the service went well. They gave me a quote based on my description and stuck to it. The process took 3 days due to weather. The crew was stuck in VA on another job due to snow so they got to my house late. Once the surface was ground down and paint applied, they left for the day to allow it to cure. They came the following morning and it was not cured enough to continue, so they returned the following day. After they applied the clear coat and flakes, they were done. The paint smell was very, very strong for a few days and it permeated throughout the house. The job was excellent, though. So far it has withstood everything and still looks great."

"It was convenient, right near his work and it was good. He said it looks sketchy at first with a little sign and you pulled in and then a guy walked out. He got his car done and it was good. Nothing fantastic, did not do the inside but they were not suppose to. They did good."

"We have been using crown floors for over 10 years. They have done carpeting, wood flooring and tile work. Each time we have had great results and have been very happy with the service and quality of work. Willy is so accommodating and sometimes he will bring the samples to our home making it very convenient for us. We highly recommend crown floors for all the services they provide."

"I used Metro Floors and Remodelers twice this summer for my rental properties, once to install a granite countertop and the second time to install carpeting throughout a three-level townhouse. Both times Frank and Reza were professional, experienced, pleasant, reliable, and honest. Both the countertop and the carpet turned out beautiful and I couldn't have been happier. One of the many nice things about their business is that they can accommodate you quickly. I made a decision about the carpet and they were able to install within a few days. What I really appreciated about Frank was his honesty when I was contemplating replacing a corian countertop with granite in a rental property. He talked me out of it by letting me know that it wasn't necessary. I was pleasantly surprised by his candor and honesty. He saved me money when he could have easily tried to convince me otherwise. I can count on both Frank and Reza to be responsive and to deliver, and I will definitely use them again."

FAQs for concrete floor coating apply projects in Washington DC, DC

Epoxy flooring is a two-part coating made from synthetic resins and a hardener that bonds to concrete to create a continuous, durable surface. Once cured, the coating resists impacts, moisture, and most household chemicals, making it a practical choice for garages, basements, and workshops. It also creates a uniform, easy-to-clean finish that looks more polished than bare concrete without requiring ongoing waxes or sealers.

With proper care and maintenance, solvent-based and solid residential epoxy flooring can last 10 to 20 years, while water-based epoxy flooring lasts three to five years. Water-based epoxy is less durable, making it more susceptible to regular wear and tear. Commercial epoxy concrete flooring that experiences heavy foot traffic may only last two to three years.

Maintaining epoxy garage floors is relatively easy. You can sweep up dirt and debris with a broom, dustpan, or vacuum cleaner, then use a mild cleaning solution intended for epoxy floors to scrub away stains. Avoid using soap-based or chemical cleaners. Mopping an epoxy garage floor regularly with warm water can do the trick.
