"Very good company. I had 2 chimneys that needed to be prepared. They reviewed the chimneys & were straightforward in their assessment. I needed to have 1 chimney rebuilt. They were punctual, kept to their schedule & priced competitively. They did such a good job that I had them close in a doorway. They found bricks that were close in color to the existing brick on the house. You can barely tell the difference of where they enclosed the doorway. I have other masonry projects that need to be completed & this is the only company I’ll be calling to do the work. I give them a 10 out of 10!"

"Tony is a very talented & resourceful Mason. He was very upfront and clear about what he would do & how much it would cost. He researched at 4 different brick suppliers to find an exact match that I needed for my 11 year old brick facade, and also managed to get enough supply (most places had discontinued that brick), to get the work done. He is very reasonable and does a very high quality job. I would not hesitate to hire him again if needed, and would definitely recommend him to anyone else."

"Thank you to Anthony and his team. He is right on point from the start he was the 1st professional to call me after prospecting businesses online, he was professional, friendly and truthful in his offering. My chimney cap needed replacement and water proofing on sections of my roof. The job was completed in 2 hours or less. He provided a receipt with itemized descriptions of what iI’ve paid for. 10/10 recommended. In today’s market it’s not easy to find trustworthy professionals. I’m looking forward to doing future business with Anthony."

"It was a pleasure working with Rob. I wasn't sure if my chimney needed entirely rebuilt or just tuck-pointed. I had another company quote my work and they provided me a cost to entirely rebuild it. Rob came and looked at the chimney and gave me a cost just to repair it. His cost was 7x cheaper. I trusted his 30+ years in the industry and went with Fire It Up. I'm happy i chose them. Saved me a lot of money and the chimney looks great."

"Met with contractor who provided me a great price and was able to get the work done when he said he would. Crew came out for work and did a great job in building me my grill patio. When I looked to get more work done, I knew exactly who I would be hiring for the job and had them come back out for a new estimate for a new walkway. Can't wait to see how the new walkway turns out. FAQs for brick or stone tuck pointing projects in Antioch, IL

Masons charge between $70 and $110 per hour. A mason may have a minimum service fee ranging from $80 to $300. Most bricklayers offer free estimates and charge only if you proceed with the project. This clear pricing model assures that professionals inspect your property before beginning work and charge based on your project’s actual requirements.

A professional repointing lasts 20 to 30 years without maintenance and extends up to 50 years when maintained diligently. This process protects your brickwork using high-quality materials that ensure lasting performance and durability. Consistent upkeep preserves its strength and appearance, providing enduring protection and enhancing your home’s overall structural integrity for decades.

You know your house needs repointing when you notice clear signs such as cracked, flaking, or missing mortar and visible discoloration on the brick surfaces. Additional indicators include loose bricks, water damage, and gaps between the brick joints that compromise the overall integrity of the structure. Addressing these issues promptly protects your investment and sustains the durability and curb appeal of your home.

A house needs repointing to preserve both its structural integrity and visual appeal. Mortar acts as a vital bonding agent that holds the bricks securely together. When the mortar deteriorates, it exposes the structure to water infiltration and further decay, increasing the risk of costly repairs. Repointing stops decay and reinforces the exterior, ensuring long-term protection.
