"Excellent quality of work and customer care. Great value offered and very satisfied with the end result. We addressed an 80 foot piece of fence with river rock (8 tons) and it looks great. They also built us a patio with brick pavers. It looks great as well. Would hire again and recommend to anyone looking for professional landscaping and hardscaping."

"I feel like my house got a facelift and Jon Gross was the architect. The porch looks timeless, like it has always been there and the ramp is unobtrusive. The whole house has a fresh look with the new entrance and lighting. At first I thought the project was too pricey, but I picked expensive pavers and Jon worked with me on the price. I am so happy with the outcome. Just goes to show you get what you pay for."

"<p>In the back yard:  installed a large, beautifully shaped, paver patio.  Matching steps were built up to my patio doors.  Created stylistic plant beds throughout the yard and installed many plants and shrubs.  Trimmed trees and reseeded a large portion of the backyard.  The front and side yard was completed two weeks ago, according to the original landscape design.  This included intricate flower beds (complete with plantings), paver stones around all beds, a gorgeous Dogwood tree, and any last minute changes that I wanted to make.  I am so "awed" by the fantastic work that Joel and his crew perform.  The transformation has been amazing and I am now proud to pull into the driveway of my home.  Neighbors have stopped me to comment on my yard.  My favorite comment was, "your yard is the showplace of the neighborhood."  Joel was on site for the majority of the work, and made sure that everything was done according to plan.  He consulted me on a regular basis to ensure that I was satisfied with the progress.  It was wonderful to work with someone who is a man of his word and completes a job that exceeds your expectations. Joel make take a little extra time to get back to you after your initial consultation, but it is worth the wait.  I highly recommend Kouski Landscaping & Design.  </p> <p>Almost forgot to mention that they perform snowplowing also.  Thank you Joel for "digging" me out this past winter.  </p> <p><br /></p> <p>Thank you Joel, from the bottom of my heart,</p> <p>Sheila Johnson</p> <br />"

"Very happy with service performed; professional, prompt, courteous. We have ~ 1 acre with multiple large beds that required a lot of clean up and edging. Am very happy with the outcome and the ongoing weeding/lawn care. Have gotten numerous compliments about the appearance of the property now. Will continue to use these folks."

"Completed. I was told I should check with a heating and cooling business to make sure the fireplace was to code. It turned out that I should not use the fireplace. Floor of fireplace could crumble after a few fires! So glad I took the suggestion!"

"A different company was trying to convince me that my basement needed about $27,000 worth of basement repairs done; Mr. Halfar looked at the same issue and said "put some caulk on it and wait a few months to see whether it's an active problem or a seasonal shifting." His estimates on how to repair things if it did need repairs were around $3,000. I was really impressed by his honesty, his knowledge, and his willingness to take an approach that involved assessing the issue rather than jumping immediately to extremely expensive repairs. Right now I'm in the "wait and see" phase of the assessment, but if it turns out it does need repairing I'm definitely calling Mr. Halfar back. <br />"

"From the beginning of the process, which was general idea gathering, to initial design, to construction, to final product their attention to detail and customer satisfaction was outstanding. <br /> <br /> The owner and his team were on time each day. The only wait we had was for the large stepping stones which had to be special ordered and the weather. Once they arrived and the weather cooperated, the work progressed daily until completed. At times they worked into the early evening. The owner worked with us each step of the way and adjusted as we modified our plans. His attention to detail and profesionalism made for an outstanding end product. I will use them in the future.  "

"I submitted a review yesterday and learned today that price point and quality of service were given an "F" . I apologize for whatever I did to cause this rating to appear; it is inaccurate.  The price point does not apply, yet; our project needs more realistic planning on our part.  The rating for quality of service should be "A" for three levels of initial customer service.  Hopefully the two responses will be merged.  Anyone planning a project that can benefit from the services of a General Contractor, will do well to consider the services of Darcy Bean Construction."

FAQs for interlocking pavers for driveways & floors installation projects in Tuscola, IL

With proper maintenance, permeable pavement can last for over 20 years. Bi-annual vacuuming prevents clogs from debris and sediment, extends the pavement’s lifespan, and helps you avoid costly driveway repairs. Permeable pavement often has a shorter lifespan in areas with heavy traffic or harsh weather conditions.

Pervious and porous usually refer to pouring asphalt or concrete—which is a single massive object—but with enough small holes to allow for even drainage. This is also sometimes called thirsty concrete. Permeable concrete pavers are precast concrete designed to also allow for drainage. Permeable grass pavers allow grass to grow through them and provide drainage.

Pervious, porous, and permeable pavers are similar because they make it easier for rain or snow to drain or absorb into the ground rather than overload the storm or sewer systems.

The most significant benefit of water-permeable pavement is that it helps precipitation absorb better (and slower) into the ground, which avoids overloading sewers and causing overflows and backups. It also helps recharge the groundwater and prevent agricultural runoff from lawns.

If you’ve ever seen water rushing into a storm drain, permeable pavement prevents that. Instead of water running off a steep driveway, a good amount of it “soaks” directly underneath the pavement.

Topmix permeable concrete costs $8 to $16 per square foot, including all installation costs. However, they give out estimates on a project-by-project basis. However, Tarmac, the company that made the product, no longer produces Topmix.

Ecoraster is a brand that offers many different permeable paving options in North America. Prices vary depending on the product and project. They’ll give estimates for each individual project. While not actual pavers, these grids serve a similar function. Ecoraster grids come in various styles and allow for similar drainage compared to permeable pavers or porous paving.

Permeable driveways may cost slightly more than a traditional paving type, but they reduce or eliminate the need to install any other type of drainage system. Drainage systems cost $2,000 to $6,500 to install. They also reduce stormwater runoff, sewer overflows, and help eliminate urban agriculture runoff, which can pollute waterways.
