"I contacted Todd at SereneScapes and explained what I wanted to do,. We set an appointment and he came out to access the area and give me his suggestions. Within a couple days he called to make an appointment to go over the design and pricing. It was exactly what I was looking for. We set a date and they arrived promptly as scheduled. Todd was here to go over the details with his foreman, Brian and Vinny. They are very professional and did an excellent job. Everything was immaculate when they left and I am extremely happy with the results. Will be working with them again to help with my backyard. <br />"

"It took over 4 weeks for the workers to finally show up and begin work of covering the lawn with herbicide, days later they began adding top soil, grading and leveling the the lawn. Then the crew showed up to add the seed, mulch and fertilizer; that is when I discovered that it was not Tobin Landscape doing any of the work, but had subcontracted to HyroSeed out of Osceola, IN. <br /> I did not mind that HydroSeed did the work, they did an very good job in the initial leveling and seeding. And they have been back to fertilize and lay down herbicides for the emergent weeds twice now and say they will be back for further weed treatments. All in all, I have been very happy with the work HydroSeed has done. <br /> I would recommend Tobin be more transparent with subcontracting, when Tobin did explain why they chose Hydroseed when seeding is required, it made perfect sense and I continue to be pleased with HydroSeed work. When I have landscaping needs, I will call Tobin Landscaping. <br />"

"We had to replace the retaining walls that were holding up a long run of bank in our back yard. We also wanted to have a stairway installed to the lower level of the bank. We consulted with quite a few landscapers. Dan Fuerbringer of Fuerbringer Landscaping presented the best design and the best estimate. Because our walls were steep in places, we were a bit apprehensive. No need. Fuerbringer’s crew did an excellent job from start to finish. The site was immaculately clean when they were done. In addition to doing an excellent job, the crew was pleasant and helpful. We love our new retaining walls (done in concrete block); they are robust and attractive. The stairway is attractive as well. We recommend Fuerbringer’s Landscaping very highly. <br />"

FAQs for interlocking pavers for driveways & floors installation projects in Union, MI

With proper maintenance, permeable pavement can last for over 20 years. Bi-annual vacuuming prevents clogs from debris and sediment, extends the pavement’s lifespan, and helps you avoid costly driveway repairs. Permeable pavement often has a shorter lifespan in areas with heavy traffic or harsh weather conditions.

Pervious and porous usually refer to pouring asphalt or concrete—which is a single massive object—but with enough small holes to allow for even drainage. This is also sometimes called thirsty concrete. Permeable concrete pavers are precast concrete designed to also allow for drainage. Permeable grass pavers allow grass to grow through them and provide drainage.

Pervious, porous, and permeable pavers are similar because they make it easier for rain or snow to drain or absorb into the ground rather than overload the storm or sewer systems.

The most significant benefit of water-permeable pavement is that it helps precipitation absorb better (and slower) into the ground, which avoids overloading sewers and causing overflows and backups. It also helps recharge the groundwater and prevent agricultural runoff from lawns.

If you’ve ever seen water rushing into a storm drain, permeable pavement prevents that. Instead of water running off a steep driveway, a good amount of it “soaks” directly underneath the pavement.

Topmix permeable concrete costs $8 to $16 per square foot, including all installation costs. However, they give out estimates on a project-by-project basis. However, Tarmac, the company that made the product, no longer produces Topmix.

Ecoraster is a brand that offers many different permeable paving options in North America. Prices vary depending on the product and project. They’ll give estimates for each individual project. While not actual pavers, these grids serve a similar function. Ecoraster grids come in various styles and allow for similar drainage compared to permeable pavers or porous paving.

Permeable driveways may cost slightly more than a traditional paving type, but they reduce or eliminate the need to install any other type of drainage system. Drainage systems cost $2,000 to $6,500 to install. They also reduce stormwater runoff, sewer overflows, and help eliminate urban agriculture runoff, which can pollute waterways.
