"<p>We did a consultation with Steve before we moved in, and set up an appointment for after our move, which was a month out from the first visit. Steve and his crew of two arrived on time. They began by clearing up the garden of overgrown plants, weeds, leaves and other sundry objects that had collected over a few months of neglect. They pruned, lopped, cut down a tree that was preventing sunlight from falling on the smaller flowers around the garden, they moved some plants around so they would be in better lit locations, and trimmed overbrown branches on a few trees. All along, Steve talked me through the work he was doing, providing information on the trees and flowers in the garden and showed me how to work with the various gardening tools. As a total newbie to gardening, I found this incredibly useful and rewarding. I can’t thank him enough for making it seem like this is something I could take on and making it seem less intimidating. After several hours of non-stop work, the garden started to look great. They fertilized and mulched and watered the garden. I then asked Steve to look at the back of the house to show him a tree and a vine growing there to seek his advice on what to do there. He saw that there was a lot of debris from the renovation work that had not been cleaned well, and the perfectionist that he is, he immediately took out his blower and cleaned up the whole place, including the garage! Thanks to Steve and Gardens Remembered for making the whole look great both front and back! </p>"

"It went well. Chris did a great job. The only problem we had is that the Alberta Spruce turned somewhat brown by mid fall even after watering as instructed. Chris said to contact him in the spring 2016 to see how it looked then. I emailed him in March 2016 about the tree, which looked awful. He came to look at it and promptly replaced it with a new Alberta Spruce for free! They obviously guarantee their work. I was very pleased. <br />"

"Hire Fidel Alfaro and his team! In May 2020, Alfaro’s Tree Experts removed a giant, double-trunk oak tree that was dying in my backyard. Mr. Alfaro owns his own crane and operated it skillfully to remove it. It was a challenging job as everything had to be lifted over my house to the street. His team did beautiful work, carefully prepping by removing a fence panel to position the crane (and it was replaced like it had never been removed), and clearing all the branches and sawdust from my lawn in the back after they finished. The team stayed until dark to get the job done as rain was predicted the next day. They returned the next week to grind the stump, lay topsoil and grass seed. My backyard now looks like there was never a tree there. Fantastic work!! This was the second time I hired Alfaro’s Tree Expert to take care of my trees. Both times he came to my house himself for the estimate, talked through what he thought would work well for my situation and then his estimate was the most reasonable of all the companies I interviewed. He and his team are professional, hard working, and all around pleasant to work with."

"d all the drains with feI had a bad drainage issue with my back yard due to erosion and other factors. Every time it rained for a long period of time I would get water in my basement which is on grade with the back yard. Paul came out with his foreman and a helper and augered out 3 French drains, about 3 feet deep, connected the drains with fex pipe, filled the french drains with rock, buried all the flex piping put down fabric to prevent weeds and put decorative stone over the entire area. They then put topsoil over the entire back area of the yard, fertilized and seeded and covered the area with straw. My back yard looks beautiful and I do believe the drainage probled is gone. <br />"

"I called Chapel Valley to start the planning stage for work I was thinking about doing at my home. I received a call from Shannon Reed and met him at my home the next week. I reviewed their work with him and walked the area, giving me ideas and options for the area. I liked what I heard and when he sent me a proposal to have the plan drawn, I signed and returned it. After about one month after that Shannon set a time (keeping me in the loop the entire time via email and calls) to meet to review the plan. We met reviewed the plan and overall got all my needs and wishes and only needed to make a few changes and was blown away with the detail and attention to what they call a "conceptual plan" (compared to others I have purchased). He took the plan back and worked with his landscape architect to get it just right. I now have the plan and it is perfect and have some numbers for the install. I am working with Shannon and Chapel Valley to phase in the work and get some of the work installed this spring. I am also working with them to have them take over the overall grounds maintenance of my home. One thing to note with Chapel is if you are looking for the cheapest option, they are not it. If you are looking for a professional company that has the ability to take you from A to Z and be professional, polite, easy to communicate with then Shannon Reed and Chapel Valley Landscape is the way to go. Shannon made this whole thing happen with out a hitch and he was easy to communicate with and listened to my ideas and always easy to get via email. I would suggest that if you work with him use email to communicate, he was even replying late into the night and weekends. If you need work done or thinking of doing work, I would email Shannon or his office I think he works at their Dulles office, well worth the time."

"This company did a good job, only the stump they left was too much.  I would preferred that the tree be cut along the ground."
