"The team at EADs was terrific from first call to invoice payment. The customer service team member was pleasant and responsive. She moved me over to the sales team and Chris reached out promptly, provided his cell number and welcomed a call over the weekend or evening-- which was terrific as it didn't require I step away from work to keep the project moving. I left Chris a voice mail and he call back promptly and we scheduled his visit within a few days. While Chris was here he was thorough in listening to what we wanted, explained our options and left us with samples to think things over. As soon as we signed the contract (no downpayment required as we chose an item in stock) we went on the list for install. Chris reached back out as soon as a spot was open to get us on the calendar. James was our installer. He was prompt, happy to answer questions, let me know when he had to step away to grab an extra part, and cleaned up fully when he was finished up. Our invoice arrived within a few days and we were able to call in to make full payment via credit card. There were a few gliches along the way, but all fixable. </p> <p>The initial agreement was amended to include a gate in the front and back, but the first day they showed up, the back gate was left off the plans. Easily fixed. Also, I had to verbalize the plans with the foreman, as it appeared he had not been in contact with Brandon, who had come to give us the estimate and who I dealt with via email for the final plans. </p> <p>The foreman on the job was excellent, as were the workers with him. The job did take approximately 2 days longer than Brandon had quoted, but we prefer the work is done correctly. Also, we wanted shadowbox style on the front (which was in the plans a</p> <p>nd emails), but it had to be redone as I caught them completing it in a different style. "I asked them for an estimate to repair weather damage to my window sills.  They came out to see the windows.  Right away they started explaining wrapping the windows, all nine of them.  I explained I just wanted a repair for now and thought they understood that.  But instead they just sent an estimate for wrapping the windows.  After further discussion they finally said they were not handymen.  I told them they were listed under handymen in Angie's List.  They said that was a mistake. <br />"

"<p>I called Merker for an estimate. I had a 14-foot metal rail on the balcony of my rental property that needed replaced.  Several legs that attach to the balcony were completely rusted through.  </p> <p>The owner of the company came out and immediately you could tell that he knew how to fix the problem. Rather than remove and replace with a new rail, he suggested the cheaper solution of taking down the old rail, and then he would take it to his shop to bead blast, weld on new legs, and repaint. That process took a couple of weeks, but he brought back and installed a beautifully restored rail.  </p> <p>The cost seems a little pricey, but I cannot complain at all about anything else.  Merker did a great job. He and his crew were punctual, professional, and did exactly what they told me they were going to do.  I would highly recommend them for any iron work, or welding you need done.  </p> <br />"
