So, I asked if Craig could, once again, come to our house to go through options and estimate. Once we agreed on the Trane system and capacity based on his rationale (and cost of course), I asked if The Dave's (father & son team) could perform the installation given they installed the Trane HVAC system at our other property. We can't be more satisfied with the installation done in less than a day and especially given the challenge of working in the basement and routing the high-efficiency flue venting to an outside wall. We also received a little on-the-job training to operate the thermostat. Not rocket science, but thermostats do tend to be more sophisticated these days. In addition, Logan took care of all the paperwork associated with DP&L and Vectren rebates programs; we already received the checks. "Five years after moving into our house we were finally ready to update our house's full bathroom. The bathroom design and fixtures were (from what we believe to be) last updated from the early 90s. A pedestal sink and clawfoot tub (converted to a shower) were a couple of the features that just did not fit our needs. The bathroom's footprint is quite small (just 6ft x 7.75ft) and afforded no built-in storage. So for a remodel we knew what was on our need-to-have list. Our goal was to convert the tub to a real shower and replace the pedestal sink with a cabinet that would give us more storage and maximize the available space. We had received quotes from remodelers that led us to believe that we would have to go down the route of having to do a custom build/remodel. The fixtures and custom finishes of these proposals were very nice but the price (in our mind) for such a small space were out of our budget. We were also told a remodel could take a month to complete. Being without our only full bathroom for that long just didn't seem realistic. So after searching online for other options we came across Simple Bath. Shawn Barral, our design consultant, showed that we could achieve our goal without going down the expensive & lengthy custom build/remodel route. The design, fixtures, & components they proposed allowed for cost and installation-time savings. These advantages ultimately fit our goal. Going through the process from preliminary design, fixture & finish selection, measurement, demolition, and installation all went very smooth. Our installers, Justin & Hunter, were tasked with (in my opinion) unenviable job of demolition which included removal of a very heavy cast-iron tub and very dusty & dirty work associated with plaster & lathe walls. They also persevered through the challenges of working with an old home which included unleveled floors and out of plumb walls in addition to a very tight workspace. At the end of each work day the worksite was clean and tidy, which was something that is often overlooked during a remodel. By the end of the work week, the installation finished right on time with incredible results. It was an incredible transformation that happened so quickly and so smoothly. Our new bathroom is so much more presentable and vastly more usable."

"Our house is 108 years old and most of the foundation was in terrible shape with bulging, shifting, cracking big enough for possums to get through, and leaking in the front and on both sides. We were on the way to working with another company to do the work when their estimated costs suddenly went sky high and there was no evidence of a contract to show specifically what work they were going to provide. I called Basement Doctor and talked to project manager Rob Forrest, had an evaluation by Al Galko, structural engineer, and met foreman Justin Parks. By the time I had an estimate of cost (expensive, but reasonable for the amount of work that needed to be done) and time (also reasonable at 3 to 4 weeks), and a contract to sign that clearly spelled out the work, I was confident in going ahead with Basement Doctor as provider. The main crew of Justin, Matt, and Greg was amazing--considerate, hardworking, professional, punctual, and neat (cleanup every day). Other crews, also efficient and reliable, came to do specific work such as excavating or electric work. The crew found other problems along the way, and there were 2 change orders clearly specifying the work and cost. When a problem cropped up, Justin always let me know right away with one or more solutions already in mind. Disruption to our daily living was minimal. The crew went above and beyond the letter of the contract, for example, building new steps to the front porch after having to tear off the old ones and other such touches that continue to make our lives easier. The workmanship was excellent, and we are very happy with the end result. Our basement is solid, dry, and safe. I believe it can stand proud for the next 108 years. "It took between three and three and a half hours to install the system. The system was installed through my sump pump. My basement is unfinished. It was mainly done by one worker, although for part of the time there were two workers. Most of the cracks in the concrete floor were sealed along with the sump pump and plumbing bathroom rough in, to increase the fan suction. The fan is really quiet. The exterior white piping was placed on the backside of the house on a corner. I think it looks fine and it doesn't really stand out or seem like an eyesore. The worker cleaned up after himself and explained what I needed to watch for afterwards (there's a U shaped monitor). He also called with the post mitigation results and a report was later emailed. I was happy with the process and happy to get my home's radon levels to acceptable levels."
