"After a lengthy search for contractors to replace our very damaged, old roof, we were extremely lucky and grateful to find J Parker Contracting. We knew replacing our roof would be a major, difficult job because of the nature of our roof and the age of the house, over 110 years old. It would involve removing both a top layer of old asphalt AND the original slate underneath before putting on a new asphalt shingle roof. The house has three stories and the roof is steeply pitched. From the start, J Parker Contracting, under the leadership of James Parker, demonstrated professionalism, trustworthyness, and thoroughness in all aspects of this project. James arranged to come out to our home to give a free estimate the day after we called. He gave a lot of time and attention to detail, going over the house carefully and answering all of our questions. It was a helfpul and informative conversation. Within hours after leaving, James emailed us an estimate and contract that was very fairly priced and extraordinarily detailed, itemizing every aspect of the job he would do. We mutually agreed to wait a few weeks until the weather got a little warmer. Meanwhile, James and his father Al helped us choose the appropriate asphalt shingles and color for our roof, bringing by samples and weighing options with us. They continuously showed us their own investment and care with our project. We arranged the starting date with them, and they arrived promptly that morning. Once the work began, the crew stayed with the job until it was done. There was never any postponement. J Parker contracting is the definition of a family business. James, his father Al, and his brother were regularly on site working with the crew and making sure that everything was being done properly and to their standards. The crew itself was professional, courteous, and extremely tidy with their work. They cleaned up the work areas and surrounding yard daily. James and Al were always reachable, responding immediately to our phone calls, voice messages, and texts. At one point during the job, an unforeseen complication came up requiring some substantial repairs and reconstruction. James and the crew were able to resolve these issues quickly and successfully, making necessary price adjustments that were very fair. The end result after a week of work? A beautiful, highly impressive, and solidly built new roof! We could not be happier with how it turned out and are very thankful to James and the entire team at J Parker Contracting for their hard work, positive energy, and tremendous professionalism. As I write this review, J Parker is back at our house doing another major project on our large enclosed front porch - another 5-star review to follow at the conclusion of the job!"

"I hired Home Run Roofing to replace by roof and gutters, and I could not be more satisfied with the overall experience. They offered multiple options for my project, all of which were affordable and competitive. Reviewing and selecting a work estimate and applying for financing was a 2025 customer service experience (as opposed to a CS experience expected 10, 15, or 25 years ago), which in part distinguished them from other companies I met with. When I had any questions during the project it was very easy to reach my my contact at Home Run Roofing to answer my question. The crew assigned to the job were outstanding. The work was completed within two days (one day for the roof, the second for the gutters) and everything was thoroughly cleaned up afterwards. Since the project's completion I have received multiple compliments about how beautiful the new roof and gutters look."

"The owner, Jim, was very professional and a pleasure to work with. He is willing to answer all questions and work with you on any issue. His team arrives on time and works very hard to get the job done in a timely manner. Roof replacement can be very messy but his team cleans up the place really well. The materials he uses are high quality and the house looks fantastic. From the road you can tell the roof was done by professionals. What a difference! His price is fair (we got numerous bids) and the quality is exceptional so we were quick to recommend him to other family members."

"So-so experience. Job was bid and performed in the depths of the recession - I think he priced it so low that he needed to cut corners. Plus: did job quickly, when scheduled. Old roof was removed with only medium amount of mess. New roof went on OK. He did an OK job installing a skylight in the new roof. Minus: He reused the old gutters, which I would not recommend anyone else do - they were pretty battered by the time they had been removed and replaced. Some of them still don't drain right. Here's the worst part: on the last day, one of his guys fell off the roof. My wife was in the dining room and saw him bounce off our back stairs and land on the grass. Fortunately, he didn't seem to be badly hurt, as he ultimately landed on boggy grass. However, Scheinfeld, when told about this, took more than an hour to show up, and the injured worker called us a few days later asking for our homeowner's policy info, thinking that we would be paying for his medical care - can you believe it? I run a small business and am very familiar with the concept of Workmen's Comp - no telling what was going on between Scheinfeld and his workers, but something seemed to be very, very wrong. A couple of our gutters still don't drain right, despite several calls to have them adjusted. But the roof no longer leaks."

No sales pitch no runaround, just up front & honest. Price was great 20% less than the other guys. Installation went fast and they left the property cleaner than they had found it. "Was being proactive to replace 20 yr old asphalt roof obtaining quotes (~3700 sq. ft., pay by check). In midst of getting quotes roof leaked due to big storms in June 2019! Taking this into account in my quoting, Tycos offered to put tarp over leaking area for free until job starts. This was one of my deciding factors to go with Tycos. John on sales end was by far the most pleasant of all quotes I got, not pushy, quick meeting, and was the only one that came with satellite estimate of roof details to give accurate estimate. Once down payment given, it was a bit disconcerting that it took them 4 days to get promised tarp on roof (the longer the wait, the more potential ceiling drywall damage from rains). John also left the impression that there would be a site supervisor involved during the whole process. This was absolutely not the case. The site supervisor Jon (no "h") called to let me know the day crew was arriving. On day install began, only the crew was present (nice guys, worked exceedingly hard from ~7:30a to sundown). After first day, crew said nothing and just left. There was zero communication on how much longer project would take at end of first day. I would not have taken the full day off work if I knew this. It ended up taking 2 full days given size of roof. After first day, my sons and I in the evening took advantage of rented dumpster to throw out some old stuff around home we did not need. Walking to/from house/dumpster my shoe got stabbed twice with nails. I had to visually make sure driveway was clear so my car tires would not get stabbed going to work the next morning. Jon the site supervisor spent a total ~15 minutes at home AFTER job was finished to quickly hop on roof to look at completed job and collect the final payment. Final cost ended up being $4.30 per sqr. ft. for CertainTeed Landmark shingles and 20 year Tycos workmanship warranty. Overall, I would recommend Tycos, but site supervisor needs to be more communicative and active during install."
