"We had a collapsed sewer line in the middle of the yard, presumably caused by soil/root settling after the earthquake. They came out for an estimate the day after we called and were the cheapest of 3 estimates we had. They started the next day. Then they did not work 2 days due to rain, and did not work the weekend because they do not work weekends. There were a few problems along the way - some of which weather related, some of which due to broken tools and other issues they had... all causing it to take longer than we had hoped (took 1.5 weeks total, but most evenings they hooked up a temporary line for use). The biggest complaint in the end (other than having no sewage for this time) was that they didn't use a plastic tarp to dump the extraction dirt onto, so additional grass damage occurred. However, they did seed/hay afterwards, which will resolve that problem over time (after it warms up)."

"Interstate did an excellent job for both jobs. They work quickly and neatly. They did trenchless for the water line, which was great. The water line was replaced in 2013 and the sewer line in 2/2017."

"I am one of the few that ever get to experience a failure of their main sewer line. Not just the outside to the street, that was done by a different company just a month or two prior, but also the main line under the house itself. Yeah, not a good year to say the least, however, with an entire new main sewer line we should be good to go for as long as we stay in our home. This review is for the main line under the home which was obviously a much bigger job. I had several companies provide bids and went with "Winky" Smith based on price and experience in this type of work. Overall the experience was about as pleasant as could be hoped for under the circumstances. The job actually didn't start out as a full replacement but based on the condition of the cast iron pipes that needed repaired we ultimately elected to do a full replacement rather than piecemeal repairs in the future. As for the job that was done I cannot say enough for the quality of work and the professionalism of Winky and his crew. His main master plumber, Ismael, was incredible. He never failed to show up with a smile on his face and full of energy. This is not easy work. Sixty years of dried settled dirt is essentially concrete that required a jackhammer for a large portion of the job and this is in cramped spaces for the most part. They did not take shortcuts. In fact they went above and beyond to actually correct the original line to a proper pitch to allow us to abandon a secondary sewer line for our lower level rec room. This gave us the ability to have a garbage disposal in the rec room sink and allowed us to tie that line into the main sewer line itself. Obviously they had to also jackhammer through a couple of the main living spaces to access the main sewer line. In the lower level office they actually disassembled the floating floor and reassembled it to save the expense of replacing it. The bathroom floor was also completely demolished. They did a wonderful job of rebuilding the bathroom. They relocated the toilet and expanded the downstairs shower allowing better and easier access. The tile work was excellent and as an extra bonus Winky supplied the shower head complete with diverter so we now feel like we are at an expensive hotel every time we use it! Everything was done in a reasonable timeframe and again we have no complaints about the quality of workmanship. In the end I could have used some paperwork help for insurance purposes but Winky was distracted with some personal issues and I was never able to get it. Despite that snag I would still recommend him and his crew if you ever need to deal with a major plumbing issue or if you just want the job done right by master plumbers with excellent remodeling skills."
