"Summary: the job went exceptionally well, and we will likely be hiring Gwyny/Bottoms Up again. I'm sheepish about publishing this report more than a year late, but I hope it helps inform other potential customers. <br /> Gwyny and her team were by far the most approachable and professional of the five separate contractors interviewed for these jobs. Her consultation was eager, friendly, and upfront; she also provided a lot of useful insight and ready answers to questions. The crew she brought to the house consisted of her, a foreperson, and the rest of the crew (perhaps ~4 total crew). During the first visit, Gwyny was on-site much of the time, also providing physical labor alongside the crew; she left the work in the hands of the foreperson, which was fine. Her crew communicated with us clearly and often - we also left the house for a short time, and they worked perfectly well on their own. The crew also worked independently, in parallel, on separate parts of the job. The tree removal was a worrisome point for us, but her explanations and the crew's ability made it very simple, with no incidents or threat of danger to property or person. Her line-item price for tree removal was incidentally the lowest of the lot we interviewed, although her overall price was not; the total quote was about middle-of-the-road. There were no surprises during the job, and the work order and process went exactly as quoted. <br /> During the second visit, the crew was run by the irrigation expert, and Gwyny did not work on-site. However, the process was just as smooth and professional as the first visit. It is significant to note that the plantings are all successful more than a year on, and the irrigation works as planned. I've only made small changes to the emitters to alter the flowrate/water delivery based on personal preference. <br /> We plan to have Gwyny back to help us plant fruit trees on the property. She calls herself the "Outdoor Cleaning Lady", and this was certainly true (our property was put in a pristine state) but she's also much more. Find some time in her schedule and hire her! <br /> <br /> <br />"

"House looked lovely when done.  Normally I have used Robert for sprinkler repair and maintenance.  He has also trimmed trees for me. He offered to paint the house and I let him to the job even though it is not his usual kind of work because I knew he would do good and careful work. <br />"

"It went rather well. Paul was on time. After talking to him about my problem, he  inspected my sprinklers/timers and noted some problems. He inspected the timer and proceeded to turn on each station. As mentioned before, the front yard stations were not going off. <br /> He first tried it manually at the valves and they worked fine. He then inspected the timer and found that there was no backup battery, explaining that sometimes the battery (or lack thereof)  causes problems with the timer. After installing the battery, the problem still remained. Paul tried switching the wires at the timer, changing the stations. The front yard sprinklers still did not work...which meant that the timer was probably not the issue.   <br /> He then started checking out the wiring at the valves, tracing it back to the timer....where he discovered that the wiring had been cut (probably when the gardener was doing some trimming of a bush). After rewiring that section, he ran several tests and made adjustments to the time of day/how long the sprinklers ran until he (and I) was satisfied that the sprinklers were running as they were supposed to. <br /> Paul also checked the heads and replaced defective ones with replacements that were needed. He is very friendly and communicates well, explaining each steps. I liked that he was methodical....doing things in order to track down the problem. <br /> As he also does landscaping, he offered some suggestions on my landscaping and when I get some money together, I plan to hire him to do some landscaping work on some of the overgrown areas of my yard. I would recommend him to anyone that has a problem with the sprinklers. <br />"

"Ric ( Owner of Pro1Day ) did a superb job for us.  <br /> We had long wanted to install a drought resistant lawn, but were hesitant because we saw numerous examples of dreadful 'plop and plant' lawns ( not done by Pro1Day obviously)  in our neighborhood.  <br /> Ric showed up as scheduled with his team with Sammy as his lead man.  They worked hard placing the boulders, showing patience as we tried to get the look we wanted. It took a lot of time and a lot of effort for them, but they were cheerful and did everything we asked.  Sammy showed his considerable experience helping us to place the plants to best effect.  <br /> We are delighted with the result, and have had many compliments from neighbors and people driving by to momentarily stop and tell us how great it looked.  His price was very reasonable, less than what we had planned for. <br /> I recommend Ric and Pro1Day without hesitation, and plan to ask him to do more work for us in the future. <br /> <br />"

"We called California Arborist to diagnose and treat several trees that appeared sickly. Derrick promptly came out. He was extremely knowledgeable. Derrick quickly diagnosed the problem and suggested a treatment plan. We had Derrick treat the trees as suggested. Wow!! The trees almost immediately responded favorably to the treatment. I've spoken to other tree "services" in the past and they invariably recommend to just chop down the tree. What a pleasant change! <br />"
