"My wife and I hired Forest Landscape to remove our old rotted pressure treated retaining wall by our Koi pond and replace with natural black basalt rock. They also removed our wood raised garden walls and replaced with paver stone with a top cap. They also removed our badly installed basalt rock pathway that was loose and lifting up. The rock pathway was installed only three years ago by Cornerstone Hardscapes. Forest Landscapes installed a stamped concrete pathway where the basalt rock pathway was removed Jose and Rigo Castaneda were very professional to work with and there crew were real craftsman with attention to detail. They showed up on time and worked even on Saturday to finish project on time. We will hire them again for any future projects."

"Elias Contruction provided a detailed estimate after inspecting the roof and making some qualified recommendations. The project required a few change orders that were not clarified in writing. I would recommend hiring Elias if you get changes in writing. They cleaned up pretty well although they missed a few things due to finishing in the dark. Overall satisfied with the job and cost was 60% of other bids due to sheathing adjustment."

"They were on time for every meeting, they communicated constantly and zealously throughout the process. They finished the job on time (even when it included a little Saturday OT!) and they charged me exactly what they said they would charge. I could go on and on about how much I appreciate the way these guys do business. Hire them! In a world of non-responsive, late, over budget contractors Bach Custom Coatings stands out as a shining beacon of the possible."

"I called and talked with Kemcoating about staining and finishing my basement floor on three occasions. I had to initiate each of the subsequent calls because they had not gotten back to me (granted they were busy with a big job), but this lasted over 1 month. I have yet to hear back from them about scheduling a time to come out and plan out the work let alone get something on the schedule to complete the work.

UPDATE:
Ben contacted me about the missed phone calls and emails. He was exceptionally busy at the time and has since come out as scheduled to bid the job, explain the finish options, and finish colors. Based on the needs we had we decided not to seal the concrete after all, although Ben's price was reasonable, we just decided to do something totally different.

In all fairness, it took me a two weeks to let him know if we were going to go ahead or hold off, which was rather unprofessional of me.
"

"I first contacted Todd in March. I spoke with him and a few other firms. He was not the cheapest, but not the most expensive either. I read the reviews on Angies and chose him despite one somewhat negative one, which I mentioned to him. Todd is a great and extensive talker and his explanations seemed reasonable as did his description of what he would do to my driveway. That included removal, adding compacted gravel, and when we asked for it, rebar, cutting a clean line at the street and creating a neat transition between the street and the driveway. When we discussed how I wanted a different color for the pathway than the driveway, he said he would do the integrated color, but that a stain might be cheaper. He did end up doing a stain, though there was no reduction in price. I took him to a driveway in my neighborhood to show him how I wanted the finished job to look and he seemed very knowledgable and told he it would be no problem.

I became uneasy when he kept delaying the start of demo because of a lack of a dump truck (an extra charge for me, not included in the original bid). Finally they started, Todd, another worker and his girlfriend. It turned out that he did not need to add the compacted gravel, but when I asked for a credit he told me that he had to haul away so much dirt that he would have charged me for that so no credit. I had foolishly thought the removal of the old driveway included hauling the debris. In the process of digging out the new driveway\path my underground sprinkler was cut. Over the years tree roots had wound around the sprinkler line, making repair difficult. Also in removing the river rock Todd removed a great deal of soil and it had to be replaced. Initially when he broke the sprinkler line, he told me it was no problem he would repair it, which I expected, because in the course of initial discussions he assured me he would leave everything looking good.

When the he tried to cut a clean line between the street and the drive, it crumbled. I'm not sure why though he told me it was because the street was old. I think it was perhaps he didn't use a saw. He seems to have a lack of proper equipment. To create a transition between the street and the driveway, Todd used cold patch asphalt, which looked dreadful. I called him and he told me that it would look better over time and that he did it as a favor to me. Also as a favor to me he brought some dirt from his home and did a poor job of replacing some concrete pavers that had been removed in the course of the work. I did myself a favor and called in a professional asphalt company who removed the bad asphalt job and did it right. I also called in my hardscape guy who fixed the pavers and filled in the areas of missing dirt.

It turned out Todd wanted to be paid for the sprinkler repair and couple buckets of dirt, I told him I wasn't happy with the price and we reached a compromise.

I was unable to be home when Todd came to seal the driveway, but I had called and told him there were marks on the driveway from when he stained the path and put in his asphalt patch. He assured me he would clean it all away. After the sealing the marks were still there. They are not terribly noticeable, but what is very noticeable is the 2 inch chunk that broke off a corner by one of the cuts. This occurred yesterday, less than a month after final completion. Todd came by to pick up the final check and took a look at it, blamed the nature of concrete and the kind of cut. I might even be to blame for gluing a piece back in place. He said he could fix it with a patch but it wouldn't look the same.

After having paid so much for this job I have to say I regret not just doing asphalt again. My driveway doesn't have the polished, professional look of the driveway I had taken him to see. Todd is a nice young man, but he hurries, doesn't pay attention to detail, blames everything else when there is a problem. I never felt that doing the best job for me and making sure I was satisfied was his top priority. It is too bad really, because I think he has the skills to be excellent.
"

"It was a big and complicated job. Murray was there from start to finish. We had a number of changes we wanted to make; Murray made them all. The job site was cleaned up completely. The work still looks beautiful a year later."

"
Jake and his team are true professionals in EVERY way! From the first phone contact, to the face-to-face meeting with Jake, to the coordination of the job plan and finally all the work, this team treated us with the utmost respect as homeowners and delivered on every commitment that was made. They know concrete. The two different jobs that they did for us called for different finishes, both with challenges. The sidewalk sections they replaced fit within the existing sidewalk. They recommended a special finishing approach that they believed would produce a texture and color that would fit in with the existing sections. The results are amazing. Many of our neighbors have replaced sidewalk sections as the street trees in our development have uprooted sections of sidewalk. Most of the "new" concrete sections stick out as "white ghosts" next to the existing concrete. Our new sections blend in perfectly with the existing sections. Many of our neighbors have commented on how wonderful our new sections look. The pad that was created to hold our air conditioning units sits next to existing exposed aggregate sidewalks in our side yard. The new pad looks like it was poured when the sidewalks were poured over fifteen years ago. You cannot tell that the pad is new and the sidewalks are old. Once again, amazing.

Here is the bottom line. The guys are pros and THEY CARE!. The quality is outstanding and the price was very fair and market competitive. I do not know why you would choose anyone else.

Hire Jake and his team. You will be very pleased.

"
