"In the middle of having my flooring installed, we discovered that I had asbestos in my kitchen and bathroom- the flooring installers walked out of the job immediately. I had 3 companies come and give me bids. San Diego Abatement Services was the most professional and knowledgeable. They scheduled the job the day after I called. They were polite, efficient, and did exactly what they promised to do. They were not the least expensive- but my confidence in a perfect job and the safety of my home was more important. They sent me the certificate of a clean air test so I can now finish my floors!"

"Everything went very smoothly. When I went to the storefront in North Park I told Mike, the owner that I wanted good quality carpet for a rental unit that wasn't too expensive. He immediately pointed me to several large rolls on the floor that they actually keep in stock because they are so popular for this application. Mike was able to set up a measurement and estimate for the following morning which took just a few minutes then called back later that day with the estimate. We accepted and 4 days later the new carpet was installed. The older carpet was repaired and it all looks great. The unit rented really quickly. This was an excellent experience and we would use North Park again, for our own home as well. <br />"

"<p>it was superb! they easiest, hassle free Radon test in town, with extremely proficient people -- very knowledgeable and very people-friendly! they took their time to explain things on the phone to me before I committed. the test came back within 10 days or so -- via email. which is very convenient. it was very clear as it is, but I like talking through it and get advice. they were instantly available to discuss. they gave me future tips to keep on top of all things Radon related. </p> <p>I have to say that all this comes to be after 3 months of many back and forths with 3 other companies -- none of the other companies could be bothered to schedule a time, and those who did, never showed up.. many times over. I don't know why I was so patient with them and I wish had discovered Environmental Testing & Research Laboratories much sooner.</p> <p>Really highly recommend them!</p> <br />"

"Inspector showed up right on time and began his inspection. He brought air sampling devices, infrared camera, etc. to do a quite comprehensive home and mold inspection. He checked all items of concern regarding the plumbing, electrical, air conditioning unit, etc. I was extremely impressed by the scope of the inspection and knowledge of the inspector. I chose them because the have all the legitimate certifications. They where there for over two hours and the report I received shortly thereafter was very informative and helpful. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs a home or mold inspection."

"Was very prompt in responding to my son's call for help and although he didn't have the correct cable length on his first trip he came back promptly with the correct cable and made the repair. His initial quote was around $250 because he thought the spring mechanisium might be broken however it wasn't and the actual cost was lower. I was thrilled with his honesty."

"We found something looking suspicious while demolishing the roof of an old shed and decided to call Envirocheck. They came the next day on time at 8:30AM, took all necessary samples and gave us results within 24 hours. Luckily the asbestos test was all negative. I would recommend these guys any given day. They are super professional and responsive. Ten stars from our perspective!"

"I am so lucky to have found Lizardi Construction. My restaurant had a fire and needed a lot of repairs done as quickly as possible and I was having trouble getting my insurance to pay. Lizardi Construction helped mediate between me and my insurance company taking a lot of stress off of our shoulders. They also did an excellent job with the repairs. I can’t recommend them enough. FAQs for radon gas abatement projects in Vista, CA

The only way to know whether your home or water supply contains radon is to schedule a professional test. A qualified radon inspector will collect samples, deliver lab-verified results, and explain the findings for $150 to $800. Once you know your exact levels, you and your radon mitigation pro can choose the right system and tackle the problem before it affects your family’s health.

Both roles tackle radon, but they focus on different steps. Inspectors test your home, interpret the results, and determine whether levels exceed EPA guidelines. Mitigation pros design and install the system that lowers those levels. Some companies do both, but the skills and equipment differ, so always verify that the person you hire is properly certified for the specific service you need.

Installing a mitigation unit fixes radon problems by reducing indoor gas levels to established safe standards. A system designed and installed by a mitigation expert, tailored to your home's specific layout and foundation, guarantees effective radon reduction. This expert installation ensures consistent performance over time while safeguarding your indoor air quality.

Open windows and doors do not reduce radon levels because they trigger a pressure imbalance that draws radon-laden air into your home. This practice fails to control radon concentration and can even worsen the issue. An active suction mitigation system provides a proven, safe, and effective solution to reliably reduce radon levels.

Radon mitigation systems generally last between 10 and 30 years, depending on system type and maintenance. Passive systems endure the longest because they have no moving parts, whereas active systems, which use a fan, require fan replacement every 5 to 10 years. System components, such as PVC pipes, seals, and fittings, can remain effective for decades when paired with periodic inspections and proper maintenance.

Radon mitigation systems consume between 300 and 3,000 kWh of electricity per year, depending on fan size and system design. On average, an active radon fan draws 100 to 300 watts continuously, which translates to roughly 876 kWh annually, and adds $30 to $300 to your energy bill each year. Choosing a high-efficiency fan and ensuring tight sealing around pipes helps minimize these ongoing costs.
