"I had an "Emmergency" basement flooding after washing a load of clothes. The drain was clogged near my washer, it backed up with this black stinky mess. I contacted Angi's List, he called right away. It was around 2pm , he was able to come that day around 7pm. Ken cleaned out the drain that led to the sewer it front of my house that had grown clogged with roots from my tree in the front yard. Great job would highly recommend! "

"They had to dig by hand because the drain was located in a space only abt 4ft wide at the edge of the property. They did not expect to find it as badly damaged as originally estimated when they snaked out the drains. The broken area was completely flattened for abt 8ft or so. They had to replace the connection to a downspout that came into the yard drain at this point as well. They had squeezed the job in before starting a much bigger and longer job already scheduled for the week, but continued to work this one even as it just kept getting worse. Josh stopped to let me know when he realized it was going to be a bit more than estimated, as they had not yet found the entire extent of the problem. I gave the go-ahead for the extra cost. They worked quickly, fixed it and cleaned up after themselves. They also lifted as much of the grass as they could in pieces to put back down on the top when they refilled the trench. Excellent job. Lots of patience with panicky homeowner as the length of the broken drain got longer and longer. Have worked with this company for 15+ yrs, and have always come back to them when needed."

"I called the office and I spoke with Harrison and he said that he would be able to help me. I called him at 530 p.m. and he said that he would be here in an hour. He fixed the clogged sink in a very short time. He didn't charge for after hours and was very pleased with his work. He is very friendly and courteous. I received his bill and I was shocked at his low prices. You need to hire him."

"He did a good job on cleaning out drain. But after a week the new drain pipe started to leak when draining the sink.I also think they were way to expensive."

"I called WyattWorks Plumbing because my kitchen drain was backing up. I was really impressed with their procedure for appointments. They emailed a photo and the name of the plumber that was coming, along with the date and time. On the scheduled day of arrival the service guy called to let me know exactly what time he would arrive, and came around that time. He examined the problem, and explained that they would have to go through the basement floor to reach the clog and replace the pipe. After giving him the ok, he went to work unclogging my drain. The job itself was much more time consuming and took a lot more effort than I imagined it would, but after two crews of plumbers and hours of work, they finally unclogged the drain! They were very courteous and professional, and the quality of their work was excellent. I thought at first that the price was rather high, but after all the work they put into the job and the quality of the finished project, I'd say it was well worth the cost. I will definitely use WyattWorks in the future! D Bowie Your review will be posted publicly on the web. Learn more"

FAQs for drain clog or blockage clearing projects in Wadsworth, OH

Snaking a simple clog near a tub, toilet, or sink often takes about five minutes. Deeper blockages along the main line can stretch the job to a few hours because the pro must feed extra cable and may need a camera to confirm the pipe is clear. Either way, specialized tools help pros work quickly and keep your drains running for the long haul.

Aggressive snaking can scratch pipes, push debris deeper, or even crack older lines. That risk is low with an experienced plumber who matches the cable size to the pipe and eases the snake through bends instead of forcing it. If you’re unsure of your technique—or your pipes are already fragile—calling a licensed pro is the safest, and often cheapest, move.

Start with simple barriers: mesh screens on every tub, shower, and sink keep hair, food bits, and jewelry out of the pipes. Skip harsh chemicals; a monthly flush with hot (not boiling) water clears light buildup without damaging plastic lines. Finally, practice smart disposal—no grease, wipes, or kitty litter down the drain—and schedule routine cleanings if you have older plumbing.

Roto‑Rooter typically charges a flat $160 to $450 for standard snaking, which may include a quick sewer inspection and basic clean‑out. Exact pricing depends on the clog’s location and complexity. Repairs or part replacements fall outside that flat fee, so ask for a line‑item estimate if your tech spots broken pipe sections or recommends additional work.

Most liquid cleaners rely on caustic chemicals that eat through hair and grime—but they also erode metal and even some plastics over time. Repeated use strips protective pipe coatings and can leave you with leaks or premature failures. If hot water or a plunger doesn’t help, call a plumber for mechanical removal instead of pouring more chemicals down the line.
