"This went very well. The first thing was the inspection of the house to do the estimate. The inspection was very in-depth. They checked the walls, the eves of on the second floor since it is a cape cod house. We took some time to make sure this was what we really wanted to do. It is kind of a complicated process. The price was right so we decided that the insulation would help with the house being more efficient.
The work started - and had to be stopped the first day (they can not pump in the insulation when it is raining due to using electricity to pump in the material electrocution can be an issue). But they were back the next morning. The crew explained everything they needed to do. I do have to warn everyone that this process is very noisy. I left the house because you can not really do anything due to the noise. One of the crew will be inside your house listening and feeling the walls so that the crew memeber outside the house can be told when to stop pumping the Air krete. I asked to feel how it felt and the crew member let me experience what it was like - pretty neat.
The crew was polite and informative. The were very knowledgeable on the process and the product.
i was very pleased with the work. I also have to say that it has already made a difference in the house efficiency. It also has cut down on the noise that we hear from the outside ( a great extra benefit).
I recommend this product and company. It has been a better experience than I expected.

"The replacement of the unit went great. Walker heating and air technicians showed up early with a new unit they picked up ready to work. They did a professional job on the unit installation and a great job of cleaning up. The installation took about 7 hours and they then explained how it worked, the warranty, and what maintenance would be needed. "Brett Smith, owner, had quoted us a price to remove roofing and install new.  He estimated there might be a few pieces of plywood sheeting that need replacing.  As the removal of the shingles and underlayment took place, it was evident there were bigger problems than first anticipated, through no fault of the contractor.  Prior to accepting his bid, he informed us there may be more bad sheets than anticipated, and there was no way to be sure until the old roofing was removed. The old roof was only 10 years old, and as Smitty and his workers removed the roofing, it was evident the previous contractor ripped us off big time.  He was suppose to replace old sheeting, and only replaced a few sheets (the previous roofer).  Brett and I discovered nearly 25 plywood sheets that needed replaced due to rotting (previous roofer did not vent the roof either)!
Brett & I had agreed to extra pricing for this prior to him starting the job.  Obviously, you don't know what you can't see. Brett got me on the roof so I could see the damage, and I was in disbelief what the previous roofer had done to us.  The current job had been estimated to take 3 days, but because of all the hidden problems (bad sheeting, some broken rafters, bowed rafters) it took he and his crew 4 days.  Only one extra day for all that extra work!  They worked dawn to dusk, and I mean worked.  They did not fool around at all, which impressed me more than anything. He has a great crew! I was kept informed throughout the entire process, and they were very professional and courteous.
Smitty installed architectural shingles, properly vented the roof, and did many other extra things to insure the roof would be solid, aesthetic, and built to last a long time.  To say I am happy with the finished job is really an understatement.  My wife is very happy too, and that says a lot, trust me!  I did not know Brett Smith before he stopped by to give me an estimate, but I took a chance based on my feelings about his character after going over the estimate. I had also seen his work on a neighbor's house.  We had gotten three estimates for the roofing job, and Smitty's estimate was best by far.

"Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."
