"Went very well at first. Albert's crew seemed to be friendly, fast and efficient. I believe the project was started on September 12, 2025 and completed on September 13, 2025. Several days later I noticed the new cement had a crack in it and notified them and they came out on September 19, 2025, to repair the crack as promised and was paid in full. A short time later we noticed another crack, I notified them and they came out to repair it. On or around November 5, 2025, I contacted them yet again to inform them that the concrete had cracked again for the 3rd time, and they gave some excuse to why it keeps cracking and that they would need another $600 to come out and repair it. I told them that I will not pay any more money and they need to make it right, which they did. In December I notified them that the concrete had cracked again for the fourth time and they told me that I would need to sign a form to release them of all future liability or they would not come out to repair it. I explained to them that I would not sign it and they need to repair it and make it right, which they did. On January 5, 2026 I contacted them to inform Albert's for the fifth time that the concrete has cracked, and they did not respond. On January 6, 2026, I called your company to report them. Later that day someone from Albert's contacted me to say that they could come out in 2 weeks to look at it. Since then, I have noticed two other cracks in different areas."

"After spending $30K with them to "repair" my foundation, it's been over a year now that I've been waiting for them to come back to finish the job and do the warranty the work that they said they would do. Since they've been paid, I can't get any response from them. The work they did was horrible, not according to the Architects plan, they used different materials and did the work improperly. They said that they would be coming back to correct it all. After several no shows and no responses, I had to file a state complaint against this company, it's owner and license holder. Meanwhile my home continues to suffer more because of their caliber of workmanship and lack of ability to do their job properly. If possible, I would not give them any stars!"

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Warsaw, IN

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
