"It was an outstanding job from start to finish. This was an entire Bathroom Remodel that was managed by a quality conscious, detail oriented perfectionist. John is an expert carpenter, but more importantly, has the management skills to complete an involved project that required several sub contractors. John has been able to put together an awesome and reliable team of incredible craftsmen. I would highly recommend John for any project! Richard and Joanne Dealy Sandwich"

"There was not one thing that I can provide a negative comment on. It was a 5 out of 5 star performance. We were given the addresses of houses that were done by the contractor that had the colors we were interested in. So we did our home work. WE were initially going to install the Certain Teed siding but for a number of reason we paid the extra  and when with the shingles. It was money well spent. <br />"

"Very well. Wendy and Jo are very responsive to inquiries and eager to do an excellent job. They did exactly what they said they would do and faster than expected. I went to work in the morning and came back to my house with a new roof. The only evidence that they were there, other than the new roof, was the dumpster in the driveway. We had a small one story ranch style home and oversized garage roofed."

"We enjoyed working with Joe through the entire of process for replacing our old asphalt roof! Our job was a bit complicated due to 90 degree intersections with garage and house, dormers, chimney and skylights but the crew was amazing! Even though everyone seemed to have a primary job, each person pitched in where needed. There was one person cleaning around the house the entire time. Even Joe was hanging shingles. They worked from 7 am until 7 pm and almost finished. They came the next morning to finish up. We highly recommend them!"

"The crew just wrapped up yesterday, and the owner came by to inspect it all this morning, and I'm very happy with their work. I come from a construction background and am a business owner myself, and I know what integrity looks like when I see it. John was a true professional, listened to any concerns that I had, and they got the job done quickly and very well, and resolved the kinds of issues that inevitably come up on big jobs quickly and easily. I had quotes from 7 different roofing companies, and True Home had one of the best quotes and used the exact same materials that companies bidding literally 3x the price were offering. I watched some of the work being done and could see them laying the ice and water shield correctly, using the right kind of flashing, leaving enough overlap along the edges, etc. Overall, highly recommend."

"Was looking into solar a few months ago, my neighbor who had panels already recommended this company. James came out to my house, sat with me and my wife and made the process quick and painless. My electric bill is basically zero now and panels look great on the roof."

"I cannot speak highly enough of Tom and Brad Green of Colonial Restorations. We have lived in our antique house for 16 years now, and like most old homes, some of its previous repairs were good, some not so good. Tom Green worked on this house for its previous owners, and his work was, by far, the best in the house. So, we continued to use Colonial - Tom, then Tom and Brad - as we learned the ropes about caring for an old house - our first house, old or new. Over the years, they have replaced sills and posts and beams, and rebuilt parts of our loose stone foundation. Most recently, they replaced the last original posts in our basement, (one of which was a tree trunk still with bark on it), including pouring new custom footings, in advance of our finally cementing the dirt floor. The work here is never easy - nothing is level, nothing is square - but the Greens' end result has always been beautiful - strong and made to last. Their prices are fair and without hidden costs....maybe not the lowest bid you might get, but you know it's a real bid that they will stand behind. They triage projects for us, giving us an idea of what other items will likely need attention in the next few years. We're not done with this house yet....we've never won the lottery, and there's always another repair..... and plan to use them again soon. I feel confident knowing that the next owners of this house, whoever they might be, will see the quality of the work and know that we cared enough to have the right people help us with the ongoing repair and maintenance of a 275+ year old house. I am a real person, a real customer, with no ties to the company, and was more than happy to write this review."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Warwick, MA

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
